lol this is seriously the first pick the guys on ESPN have hated. Of course.

 

This is the problem with Phil Emery. He gets so stuck on certain players to the point where if guys like Nix drops, he won't take them.

Yea I'm not worried about Kiper McShay rankings. Does seem like they could have dropped down but there hasn't been much action here so if there's nothing there you can't help it.

Oh yeah. Questionable work ethic, not great production but very high ceiling. Probably a late round 2/round 3 guy. Would be better if Marineli was there to coach him up.

McClellin was ranked 23 that year by CBS Sportsline. He went 19. Not a reach just a stretch to fit in scheme.

McClellin wasn't a reach. He was a late riser but plenty of guys had him in that range by draft time, just for a 3-4 team.

Excuse my really stupid question, but why do the Bears pick at a different slot every round while a team like GB stays at 21? Is it a playoff thing?

I think Phil Emery needs to learn the process of trading down. I still don't think anyone takes Kyle Long in the 1st round last year so why not trade down and get extra picks and still get your guy? Why continue to reach?

Tie breaker thing. Chicago was one of 6-8 teams at 8-8. They got the first pick in Rd 1 and then shuffle through.

@ZachZaidman: One NFL scout tells me Ferguson is a "big-time run stuffer." Consistently draws double-teams. Sheds blocks. Pass rush technique needs work.

Odd thing here is the Bears don't play a 2-tech. At least they hadn't in years.
