Week 16: Bears (8-6) @ Eagles (8-6) 7:30 PM NBC

I'm still not sure how many snaps we can even expect Briggs to play after not playing for over 2 months. Maybe half the snaps? Philly's offense is obviously very fast paced and will leave little time for a possibly under conditioned athlete to rest.

With a shoulder injury, shouldn't Briggs been pretty decently conditioned by getting on the bike every day? I would think so at least. He obviously won't be in peak physical condition, but I would expect him to be in on the majority of plays with the occasional breather on a 8-12 play drive.

With Philly in the no-huddle, he'll probably be going every other drive or two of three instead of taking off individual plays.

He said he couldn't run and conditioning is in question.

Seeing some tweets in the last few minutes that Rodgers has been ruled out for Sunday, nothing from any major outlet yet though.

Then who is Tweeting it? Your friends?

Saw two pop up within a few minutes of each other. Likely not credible. GOT A LITTLE EXCITED, is all.

QB Aaron Rodgers was an observer during team drills in portion of Packers practice that was open to media, per several beat reporters.

@jasonjwilde3m

McCarthy on Rodgers: "He looks sharp. He definitely looks better this week. He looks like he’s ready to play." But not yet cleared.

@jasonjwilde8m

Rodgers on if he has a sense of if he'll get cleared: "I have a good sense of what's going to happen, yes."

@jasonjwilde1m

Based on what Rodgers and McCarthy said, he is not playing. Rodgers' demeanor was not coy. Seemed frustrated, irritated, resigned.

Marshall and Jeffrey are a big reason why success on first and second downs doesn't necessarily stop the Chicago offense. The Bears are 29th in the league in DVOA on third-and-short, in part because they convert a league-low 46 percent of short-yardage runs. However, the Bears are fourth in DVOA on third-and-medium (3-6 yards to go) and second on third-and-long. They actually convert midlength third downs as often as they do short ones. On third down with 7 or more yards to go, the Bears convert 37 percent of the time (second to Carolina) and gain 8.45 yards per play (second to San Diego). The Eagles' defense isn't quite as bad as the Bears are good, but they are below average on both third-and-medium (20th in DVOA) and third-and-long (24th).

In the Dallas game, I remember them taking a penalty inside the 5 yard line and being relieved. Unfortunately, they didn't convert the TD and just took a FG.

It's been loads of fun watching the Bears become a competent passing offense. The ability to consistently convert 3rd and long is just another hallmark of that.

Sounds like just a lot of gamesmanship to me.

So does Joniak.

We'll see. I wouldn't be surprised if McCarthy did that.

Although I guess if we lose and the Lions win, the Packers game is meaningless to us.

How so? Would need a Lions loss to Minnesota, then the Bears/GB game would be winner takes division.

Which could happen. It's in Minnesota and the Vikings have been a tough out lately.

I think the strong likelihood is that the Bears will play for a chance at the playoffs against GB. Just depends on whether they'll be in control, or need some help, to get it done.

Nice....if they lose and we win, they almost certainly don't bring him back for week 17 (bc they'll be eliminated)
