Fort Worth Star Telegram is reporting Saban to Texas is a done deal.

Please let this happen. Just for the entertainment value and shakeup.

I'd prefer Mack Brown stay.

Must-win game for my Huskers. They hung with Georgia for a good part of the Capital One Bowl last year. Bo needs this one to improve to 9-4 or 10-4 in all 6 seasons at the helm; the program needs it for recruiting.

Will they be healthier?

Healthy for the most part, other than Taylor Martinez and Spencer Long. It'd sure be nice to have our 2 all-conference seniors playing in the game, but there's just no way. The line will be much healthier outside of long though, which is a good deal. Jamal Turner should also be healed up, and Tommy Armstrong our redshirt freshman qb should be good to go. I believe Georgia is healthy now outside of Aaron Murray.

I was able to procure face value tickets and have multiple family members offering a free place to stay within an hour of the Rose Bowl, so this was an easy decision. We are flying out to watch the national championship game (and to spend a little time with family).

Who in the hell would Bama get if Saban left? Mora? Gundy? Briles? It won't happen but Franklin would be great.

Whether he'd take it or not, the Gruden to Bama rumors would be nauseating.

No, no, no, no. I've been waiting for this day for too long. And it's still not officially here. Feel like I could still get burned.

If it's not Saban they have put out feelers to Jim Harbaugh too. Either one would be the richest coach in football if they accepted it. Still just have to get rid of Brown first.

Probably promote Kirby Smart.

Fingers crossed for Dabo.

I have no idea about the validity of this, but it comes from a reputable source I have. He said that Saban to Texas will happen within 5-6 weeks, and the contract will be for $7MM annually, along with 1% of the profits from the Longhorn Network, and a $1MM annual payment for life in retirement.

My guy has been spot-on with quite a few things pertaining to FSU. If this is true, it's a MONSTER of a contract that will redefine college athletics.

The pressure on the next head coach of Alabama after Nick Saban will be already ridiculous. Imagine the pressure on top of that if you are a black guy, like Strong or Franklin or Sumlin.

No, seriously.

Sort of Pitbull-like.

Bunch of crap games. The Cotton Bowl looks like the best non-BCS Championship game.

I wish it had been Oklahoma.

That Fiesta Bowl is going to be atrocious.

I actually think the Fiesta will be one of the better games. The times I've seen both teams play, I've been impressed. Good teams, bad histories.

I don't doubt that Mack will be forced to "resign" and that Texas believes they are getting Saban (hence all the stories) but I just can't believe he would make that move at this point. And is 1% of the LHN actually worth anything? I saw a writer last night that estimated that value at $150K but he could have been joking.

You honestly think the network is worth $15m?

If you're relying on profitability when creating a valuation, you're doing it wrong.

If Texas is explaining the value of 1% of the LHN to Saban based on current profits, they're doing it wrong.

Going off Stuy's post, he wouldn't be getting 1% of LHN, he'd be getting 1% of LHN's profits.

Nobody was talking about 1% of the total valuation. The only thing mentioned was profits.

A lot of media outlets were saying "1% of the Longhorn Network". To me, that doesn't imply 1% of profits; it implies an equity stake.

He's 9 wins from most in Texas history, right? He ain't resigning.
