Could've done without JuJu Smith's uncle going with Sark to USC. [expletive] trojans.

He was a going to go to USC even before his uncle was hired (it's been implied that he's been a silent commit for about a month).

UCLA hired former USC RB coach Kennedy Pola as their new RB coach.

I don't think that's true, actually. I know he was rumored to be a silent commit, but I understand those rumors were just rumors. He didn't like UW enough to follow his uncle there. But Sark taking the uncle to USC will lock it up, I'd think. oh well

It'll be fun to watch the UCLA/USC catfighting now.

so far as I can tell, Boise State and Ohio State were the only undefeated teams that year. If the only two undefeated teams right now were FSU and Boise State, I think an argument for Auburn holds much more weight

That was the year OSU beat Michigan 42-39 at OSU and some people were making the argument for a rematch in the title game.

Heard somebody mention it on the radio and didn't believe it so I looked it up myself. So apparently Ohio State hasn't played a team ranked in the Top 10, outside of a bowl game, since 2009. 49 regular season games since they played a #10 ranked Iowa. That's not an argument on my part that they should or shouldn't be in the NCG, but that's really stunning. In those same 49 games, Ole Miss played against teams ranked in the Top Ten 14 times.

It's like they're playing the AA of football or something

Wisconsin ended the '11-'12 season ranked 10 in the BCS ranked 8th.

But obviously, this is totally meaningless because teams aren't judged on 5 year intervals unless it's to prove that the SEC is #1 superpower

facts are stubborn things. the stat is teams ranked in the Top Ten when they played them.

but hey, they played a team that ended up in the Top Ten at some point in the last five years. Cool story bro. A tale of hardship and tribulation.

If they had played one of the Mississippi schools the past 100 years, they'd be like 3-97 or something.

OSU would be like the 9th best SEC team, amirite?

probably beneath Vanderbilt but above Kentucky, so more like 13th best.

sounds about right. But if (IF) OSU did well and won the SEC, it would just point to the strength of the conference

or something

Why do you say auburn would be favored? I doubt it. I'd love to put a plus ml bet on OSU in that game. Auburn won a fluky game againt bama and pulled one ou of their ass again st Georgia. Withou that one in a million bounce vs Georgia we aren't haven this convo. Auburn is a two point favorite vs mizzou which probably means they give a slight edge to mizzou in the game.

Nobody was paying attention to auburn when they got rocked by lsu but it still happened. Mississippi state led the whole way at auburn, and wazzu almost beat them. Auburn has no business passing OSU.

Bama has a better team than Auburn...no dispute from me. The same can't be said for the Georgia team Auburn played. You mention games against LSU, Mississippi State, and Wazzou, but you neglect a change in scheme that occurred after those games. Auburn didn't start running the read option until the Texas A&M game, and the mastery of this has become their bread and butter.

Many people pick a two point favorite to lose when they are the home team. Why would a two point dog at a game being played at a neutral site be given a slight edge?

man, I think I'd just stop following sports before I stooped to bragging about the greatness of all the teams that kick my shitty team's ass every year. that sounds miserable.

It's respect. I despise the Cardinals, but I respect how they have built that franchise and I always want to beat them. Plus, the bigger the SEC is the more money the schools get. It's not bragging if it's true.

Also, I have zero love for Ole Miss, but NOTHING is miserable about going to the Grove and scouting all the "talent" there.
