I'm not as positive on Emery's comments as some of you. I think he's starting to signal that Cutler leaving this offseason is a very real possibility.

I just don't think Emery bothers with signalling anything.

If I'm Emery, I would put a non-exclusive tag on Cutler. I know I've said it a couple times before already. It wouldn't bother me one bit if Cutler gets all pissy about not getting the actual franchise tag. You can still try to work out a deal, but Cutler can also see what other teams are willing to give him. If he signs an offer sheet, either you match it or you decline it and get 2- 1st round picks. If you can't come to a deal and Cutler doesn't sign an offer sheet, Cutler can play on a 120% of last years salary for 1 year (something like 12.5 mil I believe) and let him prove that he's worth a long term contract.

That being said... Has anyone actually got this non-exclusive tag and ended up on another team (so the original team got 2- 1st)??? It seems like either they got their contract, played on the 1 yr 120% deal, or the original team matched the other team's offer sheet.

I can't really a time when it's happened and I can't see a reason why anyone would be willing to give up 2 first rounders to sign Cutler. I mean that's basically the same thing he was gotten for 5 years ago.

According to my phone the low on Monday night is expected to be 5 degrees. Will probably be somewhere between 10-20 degrees at kickoff

Perfect timing. My first time to Illinois in December in 18 years. Good times!

I can't picture Romo playing well in those conditions.

Wishful thinking perhaps.

Have you seen the defense he'll be facing?

Bears are actually 14th in passing yards allowed and 6th in interceptions. They have an average pass defense that will force the occasional turnover. They aren't really the problem.

What I didn't clarify is that Romo can play like [expletive] and they'll still rush for 150+ en route to an easy victory. Murray is more than capable.

The Bears have allowed 1843 total yards on the ground. The 2nd worst, New England, have allowed almost 200 yards less, 1658. Haha.

The pass defense sucks, but teams don't need to throw much because they can run so easily and the Bears aren't scoring points.

Romo has an awful career record in December. Someone show him a calendar before kickoff and we'll be fine.

He went 3-2 last December with passer ratings of 150, 75, 111, 123 and 56. He has an 89.3 career rating in December. He's not awful. His team's been very mediocre.

Yeah, numbers can say whatever they want, but this is a team that couldn't stop RGIII (when he was really struggling bad) or Matt Cassel from marching down the field for very long game winning/tying drives. Drew Brees barely had a ball hit the ground against them.

The only reasonable hope is that the Cowboys stop themselves.

Which they have been prone to do. I still like the Bears ability to create turnovers. At some point these fumbles are going to stop going right back to the guy that lost it.

Yeah, it's time the turnover gods start smiling on us a little more.

@MattEurich: Hard to tell, but Forte had a ton of space on the final pass play of 4th quarter. Could of been a closer FG attempt http://t.co/XvRfDc1P09

Kind of missing the important part which is where were the defenders in relation to Forte. He might not have had as much space as the receiver. God I hated that play. Was it the throw or a just a receiver slip? Can't remember.

The throw made him slip.
