He has to find a library that carries them first.

The best he'll probably do is find a 4:3 edition of Major League 3: Back to the Minors

Maybe that already happened. It would explain so much.

Excellent.

Meanwhile...

CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the Yankees discussed Shin-Soo Choo at their recent organizational meetings.

The Yankees have lots of other needs -- including pitching, third base, shortstop, and catcher -- but the club values Choo's on-base ability. Still, it's unclear whether they'll be willing to pay the high price in order to sign him, especially as they attempt to get under the $189 million threshold for 2014. Heyman writes that the Rangers, Cubs, Astros, Mariners, Phillies, Mets and Astros could all make a play for Choo while the Reds are expected to make an effort to retain him.

To simplify the point - Likability by a general populous can create more revenue for player and team and therefore adds value that can be quantified as "off-field" contributions.

Example most recently -Peyton Manning. Likable by general populous contributed to new stadium being built. Obviously on field play contributed as well but you cannot discount the effect his Q rating had on the Colts being relevant nationally.

So the question then follows, is the new market inefficiency that charisma is currently being underpaid, and the Cubs will be going after a lot of outgoing players?

Where's Kevin Millar when you need him?

Peyton Manning is a backwoods hick. He's likable because he's the best QB of all time.

Hey now! Brett Favre takes exception to that comment!!!!

(About back-woods hicks)

So we need to hire Jim Cornette as one of our coaches and he can teach our up and coming prospects how to unleash their natural charisma. Then we will be rolling in the cash with our likeable team, Cubs talk will dominate ESPN like Yankees, Lakers, and Tebow combined due to our charismatic personalities, Wrigley is full of people wanting to see baseball's version of the Beatles and Elvis combined, TV ratings spike, agents beat down TheoJed's door to get in on the endorsement deal gravy train and even Scott Boras is giving us discounts on players.

I like that plan.

Manning's "likability" literally played no role whatsoever when it came to getting their new stadium built.

Every day I drive past Archie and Olivia Manning's house where the boys all grew up. If that's backwoods, I'll take it. I guess it's the Southern accent=hick thing. Got it.

Oh my god, are you kidding with this nonsense?

Peyton Manning being the best QB in the league for like a decade had less to do with the Colts and national awareness of them than his "Q" rating, huh?

Go on. I find your ideas intriguing and would like to subscribe to your newsletter.

Nonsense. Somehow smart people are getting in their own way. It is a fact that players with a higher Q rating make a bigger impact on a team then someone who doesn't.

as for Peyton Manning's Q score not impacting the building of a new stadium, you can't honestly believe that people said yes to fund the stadium simply because of the on the field play

Hahaha, no they funded it because of a 32 year old QB.

Who knows if PNC Park ever would've been built if not for Todd Ritchie.

Or Invesco Field if not for Brian Griese.

Maybe they foresaw that Peyton Manning would play there some day.

Invesco Field was definitely built for Tim Tebow.
