If I were espn I wouldn't want my sports personalities arguing like collee freshman about evolution. Keith law comes off as nearly as big a douche as schilling.

What the [expletive]? You're a creationist?

The worst part of reading about this is finding out Law might be responsible for @OldHossRadbourn.

ESPN said that the evolution stuff is not why Law was suspended, fwiw

You didn't know that??

yeah, that's been generally assumed for a while

I love @oldhossradbourne, figured it had to be some writer.

I love when media members get up in arms about a guy not answering their questions they way they want them answered.

MAKE HIM TALK TO ME MISTER GOODELL!!!!!!!!!!

they care more about that crap than whether a guy beat his kids or wife.

One of these days sports teams are just going to say "screw it, we have our own web sites and magazines and even our own network, we don't need you."

lmfao boers and bernstein just noticed that in the first version of his column about the samardzija acquisition, telander referred to the cubs as "the dog-mess quasi-minor league team on Addison" and that, presumably after the lester signing, that was changed to "the team on Addison."

Boers mentioned it near the top of the show, and I tweeted at Dan that it had since been changed. The only evidence that it was ever written differently is if you google the original wording.

Len guesting on Mully and Hanley. Yay!

Been listening since 7:00, and the did nothing but talk about the terrible, awful, no-good Bears. What a waste.

Did he go there straight from the bars?

Interesting 1-mile walk in downtown Chicago at 3:45 am -- didn't see a pedestrian. Not one...on Michigan Ave between Huron & Lake.

Huh...he started on the radio at 5am, so I guess?

Len strikes me as the type who could be a crazy insomniac.

also, baseball announcer insomniac who wanders chicago alone in the middle of the night kind of sounds like the hook to a sad indie movie.

he's written in the past about anxiety and depression

Maybe he was just walking to work? Radio at 5...maybe he was supposed to be there at 4:00 or something for a production meeting?

He filled in on the Mully and Hanley show, which starts at 5am locally. Not a stretch that they would have to be there at 4 or so to do a pre-show meeting.

Most of these shows do production meetings before they go on the air so they can plan out guests/segments/etc. And since the show starts at 5am...

I've always been under the impression that the really early morning shows just have people show up and go on the air. Asking for a meeting in advance of one of those is a killer.

I would imagine they do a lot more the day before than other timeslots so they don't have to be there at 3:00 AM, but with so many of the things they talk about likely happening the night before, they would have to get their act together a bit before going on air.

My guess is that guys like Mike and Mike don't actually watch many prime time games live, but get shown hilight packages before they go on the air
