It's a team with a ton of money in a huge market and it's the NFL; I don't see it ever being an issue for them filling the head coach or GM spots unless the ownership turns into Jerry Jones-types.

We are heartbroken to report that Stuart Scott has died after a long fight with cancer. He was 49.

Sad. Rich Eisen and Merrill Hoge in tears talking about him. I was a fan simply because he was one of the rare African American journalists and TV personalities. He used hip-hop references and was really one of the only people on tv that I could see being one of my peers.

49 is too [expletive] young. Fitting that his moving ESPY speech is one of his last public appearances just like Jimmy V.

It's kind of creepy how much prepackaged material they had prepared for this. Seeing people in tears talking about him that was obviously recorded when he was still alive.

Definitely. Some of that was probably put together before his ESPY speech in July. Most didn't think he'd make it there.

Not that it really matters, (and maybe I'm just being lazy), but what type of cancer did he have? The first article I read just said cancer, so I tried a couple others and it was the same sort of thing. Did he never divulge that?

From some quick searching it looks like it was cancer of the appendix(appendiceal?)

All I remember is that they found something when he had his appendectomy like 6 years ago while he was covering at a NFL game? I don't think they ever said it was "x" cancer.

What the [expletive]; I remember the story of them finding it when he went in to have his appendix removed, but I didn't figure it was actually the appendix. That's seriously fucked up.
