I've got no clue what we're doing. Maybe saving to make a serious run at Jones or Serrano? Maybe Whitson or Sheffield?

Maybe our front office didn't subscribe to BA and just did some scouting and then took some players they liked.

JACOB HANNEMANN, of, Brigham Young University

he chose to go on a two-year Mormon mission in 2010, right after high school.

So he was already 19 when he graduated high school? Was he held back? Is that a typical age for Utah high schoolers? Did he get to play against guys 1-2 years younger than him in high school?

I refuse to believe that Bryant is going to be so expensive that we had to underslot the hell out of the 2nd and 3rd round picks. There has to be an agreed upon big deal later right?

I imagine they'll take a big overslot in the 11th. They seem to have saved some money between rounds 2 and 3.

What fun is a draft if you can't game-theory the hell out of it?

Appel is quoting scripture. I'm sure that would have played out wonderfully in the locker room.

Thank you for making me happy we didn't pick him.

You guys are weird

I don't see why.

That said, welcome to like 90% of athletes on Twitter.

Oh, you see plenty of "Thank God" and "I'm so blessed" stuff, sure. Token Christianity, mostly.

Not a lot of people memorizing and utilizing long quotes from scripture. If he's a bit of a bible-thumper, I can see that not going over well in a locker room full of guys many/most of whom party hard and/or cheat on their wives pretty frequently.

And we prefer cheaters? Classy.

The amount of money Hannemann is offered after he's drafted will play a major factor in his decision.

"It would have to be a big thing financially. I know playing in the minor leagues are a tough few years. You don't get paid a lot, so I'd have to live off that signing bonus," he said. "I'm looking to get married, too. So I just have to see what happens and definitely pray about it when that time comes. It's all coming down kind of quick. Hopefully something good and something big happens here soon."

Professional athletes are pretty damn Christian. Chad Curtis was crazy evangelical, sucked, and hung around forever. I don't know what to tell you if you think a guy quoting scripture is going to piss off a clubhouse that probably has a prayer group.

To be thankful you didn't get a stud pitcher because he quoted scripture is like I said...weird.

Did I say I was thankful?

Tim did

my line was a throw-away joke, latching onto any reason to be happy we didn't land Appel.

Agreed but we can try to infer some ideas on slotting demans based on prospect media opinions.

We understand there's a young lady friend in Provo.

Cameron is going to marry the first girl he lays.

Possibly and/or Bryant is going to take slot+ to sign.

If Bryant costs overslot, I'd have went a different direction.

I'm probably just missing it, but I don't see what would be the point of taking an underslot in order to overslot later.

Wouldn't you take the overslot first and then underslots after?

I'm guessing so you don't have to surrender the money if they don't sign?

If they thought he was the most talented player available, I wouldn't have.

Well, going under the bigger slotted spots at the top leaves more money for going overslot than going under the smaller slotted spots early.
