Is there any chance that if Almora is still absolutely destroying the midwest league in a month, he'll get the call to Daytona?

 

That'd be a pretty insane team, especially if Pierce finally gets sent up, which I imagine he will.

Well, if he continues to hit at this .400+ pace, I'd imagine he would. But I suspect he'll cool off a bit and get eventually bumped up in mid-August so he can finish the season with meaningful PAs in the FSL.

I wonder if they are waiting until after the draft, or perhaps waiting until Boise starts. Originally, I had hoped that he would get to Daytona early enough that he might get a look at Tennessee this year if he did well at Daytona, but the Cubs may be taking it slowly and looking at Daytona as his final stop this year.

Temporarily inactive list: If a Minor League player is away from a team for a few days because of a personal matter, travel to an All-Star game, etc., and is not placed on the DL, he is placed on the temporary inactive list.

 

TEMPORARY INACTIVE LIST- This list is used only during the season for short absences and may be used at the team's discretion for bereavement leave, family events which require a player to be away from his team, or other non-injury related reasons.. Players placed on the temporary inactive list must remain on the list for a minimum of three consecutive days.
