If his criticism extended past the coaches and management it's too far IMO. Once it gets to players, it's effectively mutiny. I suspect it was getting to the players in this instance. Maybe that's a bad assumptions on my part, but I just don't see them making this move otherwise.

Derrick Rose already has his advisors in his ear spouting off [expletive] about management and you're comfortable with the fact the coaches may be spouting the same stuff? Might as well ship him off before he asks to be traded and kills value. A coach letting it get to the player level is undermining his own job.

Adams just isn't that important. Really nothing to sweat over, IMO because managements results speak for themselves. No player is gonna remember Adams firing when the Bulls are a top 2 team in the East again and in the ECF.

As @KCJHoop reports on Gar Forman's dismissal of Tom Thibodeau's top aide, relationship between Bulls' GM and coach easily worst in NBA.

Ehhhhhhh. I didn't realize that there was this animosity between the two.

I'm not sure what has created this rift, but my assumption is that it had to do with the disassembly of the Mob Squad and giving Thibs not a whole lot to work with this season in terms of bench production.

So he's saying that Gar/Thibs relationship is horrible, or Gar/Adams?

No wonder the Thibs resigning took so long, and he took forever to actually sign the deal.

It's tough...I know on one hand the Bulls were up against the luxury tax, but I know the Bulls also purposely signed Kirk to a contract that caused them to have hard cap in place that limited their spending (cant remember how or why that was the case, some rule in the new CBA).

Chicago has emerged as a frontrunner to sign free agent Mike Dunleavy, Jr., league sources tell Y! Sides discussing two-year, $6M deal.

If it's Nazr or somebody else it really does need to be somebody that can legitimately spell Noah during the regular season. Gotta get him back to that 32-34 minute range, IMO.

Simple problem to fix. Fire Gar

Possibility. Why might GarPax not like Thibs? Is it really that Thibs is prickly to be around?

If GarPax don't care for Thibs, why did they just give him a new contract? They dislike his personality but realize he is a very good coach and will live with him for the time being?

K.C. Johnson @KCJHoop

Bulls reach verbal agreement with Mike Dunleavy Jr.

Looks like that's wrapped up.

In other news, Gar has a terrifying face.

He shares a name with this fish:

What'd you expect?

it seems to me like the bulls front office has been kind of dicking around with thibodeau for no reason ever since he first wanted the extension. it probably won't end up meaning anything, but it seems like they're trying to alienate him for no reason. give him what he wants, he's a top 3 coach in the nba.

Waddle and Silvy had somebody on yesterday who was talking about how Thibs and upper management will get together on things, come to some sort of consensus, and then Thibs just goes and does whatever he wants anyway. This included the overuse of players and emphasis on winning regular season games. I can see Gar's point here and what he really did was take away one of Thibs' yes men to hopefully make him a little more accountable on things like playing time for a guy like Noah who clearly needs less time on the floor during the regular season. Made it sound like Thibs is his own worst enemy.

Dan Bernstein said one of the sticking points between Thibs and Gar is Tom's overuse of the starters to get good playoff position which results in a tired team come playoff time.

He's not just a "yes man", though. He's a really good and respected coach and letting those kinds of people go over pissing matches makes the organization worse.

Man this organization is completely in NBA hell.

At least 20 teams would love to be the Bulls. They have a superstar, sell out most every game, and make a ton of money. I still think they can win a title in 2-3 years.

Weird because one year they got to the ECF, the next year their superstar tore his acl in the first game and last year we made it to the second round despite injuries to Deng and Hinrich. Not sure where we being tired comes into play. I guess you could make an argument that we could have beaten Miami in the ECF but that's a stretch to say we lost because we were worn out.

Or you could say playing so many minutes in a strike shortened season contributed to playoff injuries to Rose and Noah.
