Will do. RT @smokiesbaseball Be sure to check back tomorrow for a BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!

It's probably some stupid Kris Bryant bobblehead day or something. What the hell big announcement could they have?

They've received $300 million in funding from the Kodak city council to upgrade their facilities.

Yeah, the actual minor league organization doesn't have access to breaking news on player movement at this time of the season.

It'll be something related to the minor league team itself (extension of contract with the Cubs, stadium improvement, schedule/promotions, logo, or maybe an ASG hosting announcement).

No. 2 in baseball. Behind #Twins; ahead of #Pirates. RT @cubsman1980 @ProfessorParks hey Jason where would you rank cubs system right now?

Not sure if this is old news but Steve Wilson is now the Pac Rim scouting coordinator for the Yankees. Looks like he left the Cubs this offseason.

He was certainly prevalent with us for a few years. Makes sense though, he was a Hendry guy.

Should we be worried that his photo is blurry???

nice. i also would've accepted a light photoshop suggesting he'd shown up at like blackhawks camp or something.

* Among the changes to their minor league field staffs, the Cubs moved touted pitching coach Storm Davis from high A Class Daytona to Double-A Tennessee. They want him to continue working with many pf the organization's top pitching prospects after impressive performances for Daytona, Baseball America's Minor League Team of the Year in 2013.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but that seems be a sign that Edwards will start in Tenn.

Am I nuts, or didn't we already know that?

I'm pretty sure there's been plenty of people on this board that have said he might not have gotten enough time in Daytona.

I posted a puff piece on Pierce yesterday in one of these threads that quoted Madison saying that CJ, PJ, and Black all were likely to start in AA.

Yeah, Tennessee's rotation is going to be fun. Edwards/Johnson/Black/Pineyro/Wells should all make the move up.

Daytona is a wild card, but my guess is they'll have Scott/Maples/Peralta/Heesch/????? Zastryzny or Paniagua, if he has the spring training expected out of him could be the 5th.

Kane County could have Blackburn/Underwood/Skulina/one or both of Zastryzny or Paniagua/Frazier/Masek/Pugliese/Hoffner/Wagner, with Michael Jensen coming back to do something.

Obviously, there will be lots of piggybacking in Kane County, I never remember about Daytona, but I don't think there is much of that there.

Iowa's rotation(forgot them) will likely include one or both of Rusin and Grimm/Hendricks/Ramirez/maybe Rivero if they try and stretch him out(saw that as a possibility somewhere)Jokisch/Loux/Beeler. Too many there, unless Grimm and Rusin make the big league club and Rivero stays in the pen.

Christian Villanueva is headed to Iowa, no? If Olt fails to win the 3b job with the MLB club, what becomes of 3b at AAA? Both of those players need reps.

If Olt can't win a job on this year's Cubs teams then I do not think you have to worry about getting him reps.

Well, they both need at bats. Both are pretty finished products defensively. There would be plenty of room to get them both in games with the lack of real options at 1B and DH at Iowa.

way to early to write off Olt even if he doesn't make the team out of ST

He's 25 years old and this team sucks. If he can't make it, he's not going anywhere. Throw him in AAA and let him find ABs where he can, but there's no reason to worry about a logjam.
