The missed free throws by good free throw shooters and allowed offensive rebounds were pretty choke like.

Leonard is a 63% FT shooter.

don't get why people are so anxious to be all CHOKE CHOKE every time a team loses a close game.

82%,

They put up a graphic late in the game saying 63 or 64% for Leonard.

it was wrong. or it was postseason. he was 83% in the regular season and 80% career

Game was just amazing. One of the best NBA games I've seen in awhile. Can't believe the Heat pulled that off, and now -- there's just no way the Spurs win game 7, I'll go out on that limb.

Does the NBA give foreign reporters first crack at the questions, or just councidence?

In the Miami's reporters defense, they had all left and were on their way home with the rest of the front row at the 1 minute mark in the 4th quarter.

Shout out to Andrew Sharp for concisely crystallizing everything I feel about LeBron James.

http://www.grantland.com/blog/the-triangle/post/_/id/65909/nba-finals-shootaround-just-like-heaven

Andrew Sharp: I'm sure there will be plenty of hot LeBron takes out there today, just like there are every other day, so we'll try to keep this brief. Last night was the game where I realized I'm openly rooting for LeBron James to be awesome. I've probably been in this mode for a while, but there was just nothing to crystallize it quite like Game 6.

It's still surreal, don't get me wrong. When LeBron fell apart in 2011 and the Heat crumbled on national TV, it was one of the most enjoyable sports disasters of my lifetime. The Game 2 collapse? [expletive] incredible.

The whole rest of the series followed that pattern, and it was amazing.

But then when it started happening in these Finals, and specifically when it was happening in the first three quarters last night, there was no fun. Nothing was cathartic about watching LeBron wobble around awkwardly and slowly disappear against the Spurs. It sucked. And I was just bummed. Because there's so much stupid noise constantly surrounding LeBron, and by extension the NBA, and it's all redundant, and basketball is so much better when LeBron renders all the [expletive] irrelevant.

At the same time … before Game 6, a lot of people said we shouldn't judge LeBron or his legacy on what happened last night. That was [expletive], too. He's one of the most stupidly talented players we've ever seen, and this was one of the biggest games of his career. Of course we should've judged LeBron on what happened last night, and that's why it was so depressing when it looked like he was cratering all over again.

Then the headband came off, LeBron turned into a superhero, and a double-digit deficit turned into a Heat win. He wasn't totally perfect even during that stretch, and the game was insane for roughly 10,000 other reasons, but the raw power of LeBron down the stretch was unforgettable. He's a monster. I have no idea what happens from here, but it was all a good reminder. In 2013, instead of slogging through more debates about LeBron failures, it's a lot more fun to gawk at the success.

ESPN's bottom line just said the Spurs had a 98.6% win probability at the time in which it was being discussed if the Spurs "choked" or not, fwiw

What an epic choke by the Spurs. They should have put the Heat away, but now face a Game 7 that I think they will crumble in.

Whats sad is I dont even think the questions about Lebron will stop after this final. This is a guy who's been good but not great for at least half of this series. When you set high expections 'not 1 not 2' and have 'The Chosen One' tattooed on your back, you kinda expect more then what we've seen.

I'm not surprised that this is pretty much pr0n for you, but get freaking real. Do you think your hero Michael was invincible in the Finals? (Spoiler: he was not)

Of course they choked. Saying otherwise is absurd anti-meatbalism that has swung too far in the opposite direction.

Yes I do. He was 24-11 in the finals. Averaged 34/6/6 with superior efficiency for a high volume guard and won mvp in every appearence. I dont understand your point, if he wasnt invincible in the finals who bested him?

This is crazy. If ray allen doesnt drill that 3 then the spurs gut out a win a championship. The ball came off the rim like it did and the heatmade the shots when they got the second chance. Lebron missed that first three so bad that good rebounding position became bad rebounding position and Bosh made a nice play to get the board and the ball to ray allen for the game tying three.

Two guys going 1-2 from the line down the stretch is not an epic choke job. Compare the likelihood of two guys going 1-2 from the line (which is a probability dead heat with going 2-2) and the unliklihood of what happened on the other end of the floor.

I don't think you know what "choke" means.

up 4 points with 2 free throws coming and 28 seconds left

yes, that would be a choke

a) yep you definitely don't know what a choke is

b) they have like a 50% chance of winning

Or 98.6%.

you were close though. only missed by like 50%.

When abuck said that, they did have ~50% chance of winning because overtime had just started.

He was as close to invincible as a human being could get. That is unless the GOAT comes along in a few years and wins 6 titles by sweeping his opponent all while clearly being the best player on the court and in the world.

The cool thing to do now is pretend Michael Jordan wasn't Michael Jordan.

And forget he averaged 41 pts a game in the '93 Finals

For me, the thing that's really irritating about Lebron is that despite having all the talent in the world, he seems to just coast and let the game dictate to him instead of making the game flow the way he wants it to. I don't know if that's a function of the players around him or what, but it seems to me that most of the other great players out there, when matched up with an approximately equally talented opponent, could impose their will on the game a little bit more. Maybe it just seems like he's not exerting that much effort because things come so easily to him, but man, when he gets really motivated, he's an unstoppable monster out there. I can't figure out why that player doesn't show up more consistently, especially in the playoffs.
