There's too much excitement in his voice when a great play happens that doesn't benefit the Cubs.

I just don't like it... when one of our players gets robbed of a hit or something and he shows excitement about it, it pisses me off.

 

I think there's a very slight tone difference in his voice. He gets excited but more of a 'wow what a great play' excited than a 'this benefits the Cubs' excited. I could be insane though.

 

There are definitely broadcasters that get more excited for the opponent's big plays (cant think of a specific example but I've heard them), and then on the other side of the equation there's Hawk going mute for minutes on end whenever the White Sox give up a run.
