I like how Marmol was pumping everyone up after the DP, meanwhile everyone else probably wanted to pummel him with socks filled with soap.

If Marmol is still the closer after today, Sveum should be fired.

Marmol is likely the closer because the FO wants him to create some semblance of trade value and feels it has little to lose...I doubt Sveum actually wants to run him out there in those situations.

if Fujikawa were given the closers job and Marmol could shine in the set up role, would he really lose much trade value? Most contenders already have a closer and when looking for pen help are more in the market for 7-8 inning guys anyway.

So you want to put Marmol into more of a high pressure role?

So, what are the popular candidates for Jump To Conclusions Week from today?

Neck and neck between cubbyvirus and illiniguy.

For saying the marmol thing is a charade?

I really wish you'd die in a fire huts. No offense though.

I said that running marmot out was a charade and that were still in first place. That's it. Then was attacked by one of the funny guys. But yeah, bad day.

It's a difficult problem with Marmol, you want to run him out and hopefully be effective. Thereby, giving him some semblence of trade value but, in this process he may blow several games. We all know the Cubs are not playoff bound, etc. but, I believe they'd still want to win as many games as possible.
