Not a smart move to have tickets priced the way they are for this. This is still considered a rebuilding year. The days when people packed Wrigley for the sake of going to Wrigley are over. People want to see winning baseball and that hasn't happened for awhile. Until the team proves they can win I think the front office needs to take a look at other ways to bring people to the ballpark. Reduced tickets is a start.

Bleacher seats are frigging $75 for this game. Thank god my brother wanted to buy mine. The next day against the same team the tickets are $20.

FWIW, that forecast has now shifted to 43 degrees and sunny for the opener.

Still too far out to take any one forecast too seriously.

It's a week away and it's right in the middle of a bunch of rainy days, so I'm not feeling optimistic.

Weather still looking terrible for the first homestand. I know its still a few days ahead of us and can change but as of now weather.com has it raining Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with highs ranging from 44 to 52. There is a rain/snow mix projected for Thursday.

I went to Opening Days at Wrigley in 2007 and 2008 and both times the weather was miserable.

2008 was in the 60s. Very humid and it had just rained, but far from miserable by opening day standards.

Not a home opener but in 1996 I was at a game against the Dodgers that was brutally cold and windy. Ramon Martinez's groin exploded. I was right at the stage of no longer being embarrassed by my parents, so I was quite happy my dad brought a blanket into the stadium.

There was a 41 min rain delay and it was wet but you are correct that it wasn't as cold.

2007 was really bad.

I really want to go to a home opener at Wrigley some time but since we'd be visiting from out of town, the potential for bad weather makes for an annoying risk.

I've never been an April game at Wrigley that wasn't terrible weather. Not that there haven't been April games that were nice weather, but I haven't been to one.

I've been to one that had decent weather (the STL game in '09 which Soriano won with an 8th-inning homer), but several others that were awful. April is definitely a Wrigley crapshoot.
