And to be fair, Illinois was about the 7th best team in the Big Ten. Marquette tied for first (probably 2nd or 3rd best team) in the Big East. There is a difference. And again, it is wrong to judge everything on the tournament or one game samples. I mean, Marquette needed Davidson to give the game away just to escape the first round. They also very narrowly escaped butler, a team Illinois blew out this year.

The NCAA tournament ticker mentions Michigan's 1993 Final Four appearance as their last one, even though the NCAA itself ordered that appearance vacated. Good to know even the NCAA doesn't take that 'punishment' seriously.
