St. Louis has 2 top 50 wins (VCU, New Mexico) and one loss outside the top 150 (Rhode Island). Coupled with a weaker non conference schedule, I think they're about where they deserve to be right now, just outside the top 4 seeds and in the 5-6-7 mix.

St. Louis was in the last top 12, and so wasn't even in that vote. You're ranting about nothing.

Then I'm confused, because I don't see them in your current top 16, which is where I think they should be.

Well we don't.

Nor does Jerry Mathers over at ESPN

Or the bracket matrix. 5 is the mode, only 16 out of 98 have them as a 4, all others have them lower, some as low as 7.

I like St. Louis' resume, probably more than most here, but I don't agree. Who in that top 16 should be bumped for SLU?

Just a general reminder for the final bracketing, 5 seeds cannot be at a homecourt disadvantage, I don't know if that'd involve shipping Syracuse out of Philly or what.

Could switch them with Florida and send Cuse to KC, I suppose.

It really depends on who the 5 seeds are at this point (although it wouldn't be Pitt either, so Syracuse would probably have to get moved regardless).

Not a big believer in K State or Syracuse at this point and Wisconsin has been playing like crap lately. Add in the fact that SLU was missing their senior PG for the first 11 or 12 games of the season and has now won 13 of 14 (I think) and you have a pretty legitimate case.

Also, Butler isn't a top 50 team any more?

Butler is #54 on KP.

This is why we do everything by committee here, so nobody's singular opinion rules. A consensus of 7 people decided St. Louis wasn't among the top 4 seeds, so they aren't.

Well, any thought of Wisconsin not being in the top 16 is probably vaporized now.

I'd say Georgetown probably jumps Michigan with a win tonight but unless we think one of our projected 3's will jump them as well it's not really important to our projections.

Also, at the end of games today, it's about time to start taking serious notice of potential bid thieves and where they'd slot in if they stole an auto bid. Teams like the Southern Miss/UTEP winner, Utah if they win tonight, half the SEC, etc.

Any chance Illinois ends up in KC?

Opposite Kansas possibly. Anyone else would create a disadvantage for the protected seed.

Man I hope that happens.

Virginia didn't make a great case today.

Iowa's the only team left on the outside that could improve their case yet. Alabama's win could get them back into the conversation, maybe.

I still believe that if the committee truly uses KP as a tool, MTSU is definitely in.

Illinois is exactly the kind of team that could beat us. I'd hate to see them in our bracket.

I think Duke is still a 1 for now, but Louisville has to jump them on the S-curve presuming they beat ND tonight. I'd move KU past them as well if they win the Big 12.

With Kentucky's loss, Lunardi now has the Rebels as last 4 in. A win tonight against Mizzou is a necessity at this point. Lose and they are absolutely out.
