Getting offered millions of more dollars than he is currently making/under contract for will have that affect

 

I can't imagine money was a deciding factor here. The Eagles don't really have a wildly free-spending owner and Oregon has Phil Knight passing out money like candy (to coaches and probably players).

 

I don't know that he's likely to get far more in Philly than Oregon would have offered. I'd guess it's either a control thing or sanctions.

This Manti story had to eliminate Brian Kelly from any remaining coaching vacancies, didn't it? Who wants that to be the primary discussion when they introduce the guy, because it would be.

It probably prevented him from doing a Chip Kelly turnaround, but I doubt he was going to do that anyway. If he was going to leave he would have done it originally when, according to PFT and others, the Eagles were ready to offer him the job.

Nothing official but I am hearing ex #Bears LB coach Bob Babich could be headed to #Jaguars as defensive coordinator for Gus Bradley.

Apparently Pep Hamilton is the leading candidate to replace Arians as OC in Indy.

He also interviewed for the vacant Oregon head coaching position.

He goes from having an official title of "Andrew Luck Director of Offense" to becoming Andrew Luck's offensive coordinator again. The deal is done according to sources. Something tells me the Colts aren't going to give him that title though.

NFL is looking to revise the Rooney Rule after no minorities have been selected for any of the HC or GM positions yet.

 

What are they going to do? Require that if 8 teams are looking for a HC, 2 have to hire a minority? Because that makes sense.

Who knows. Maybe they feel the Rooney rule has depleted high level minority assistants and are going to try and push it down to lower level positions to close that gap too.
