Keep it going Ravens. Then I think best case may be Seattle winning tonight.

A. It would give the Packers a definite "win and bye" scenario.

B. I'd rather go to Seattle or SF than Green Bay first week of the playoffs it all goes right.

On point B. None of those 3 seem winnable to me, but honestly, I'd rather play at GB than Seattle or SF. In fact that would be my order of preference.

Eh, I'm going with the fact the Bears lost at SF without Cutler. Maybe that's a difference. And the Bears could/should have beaten Seattle already. Gotta go on the road somewhere, rather not go a place they never win.

Yeah its really like choosing how you prefer to die. I respect your reasoning. I just feel like GB is the opponent we are most familiar with and I can't get over the feeling that every single time we play them I feel like we could have won. SF embarrassed us cutler or not. They abused our defense and scored at will. The last time we saw Seattle they scored on a 97 yard drive and an 80 yard drive on back to back possessions to beat us. Also they are undefeated at home and Seattle is said to have one of if not the biggest HFAs in the NFL.

Yea, I'd rather go to Green Bay of the 3 options.

I don't really give myself the luxury of thinking which team to play because I just have nightmares of either Minnesota winning or the Bears laying an egg at Detroit (one of these seems inevitable)

Dick Stockton's description of Lovie Smith couldn't be any further from my perception.

Just because he is generally soft-spoken doesn't make him a "class act". He is one of the most arrogant coaches I have seen.

So just Bears winning and Vikings losing will do it next week?

Yea.

I think we need SF to win tonight for that game to matter to GB, IIRC.

Everyone realizes that Packers/Vikings is just as big of a rivalry (if not bigger) than Packers/Bears, right? The game will still matter, Christian Ponder is still their QB, and GB will still probably win.

No, Seattle winning tonight would be much more beneficial for the Packers.

2 lines of thinking for me

SF is 10-3-1. GB is 11-4. Seattle is 9-5

If SF wins tonight they are 11-3-1 and need a win over Arizona to clinch a bye. Meaning the Packers would need a win over Minnesota and a SF loss to Arizona to get the bye.

If Seattle wins tonight, GB only needs a win over Minnesota OR a SF Loss to Arizona to clinch.

In the first scenario the Packers would know they have to win and get help to win so they couldn't hope to fall into a bye if they falter. However everyone associated with GB would know the chances of Arizona beating SF are slim. Mccartney started Flynn a year ago with stuff on the line so who knows how he would approach that situation.

I think the better option is for a Seattle win.

Yea, strength of "rivalry" is not something I really take into account.

If this is all true, I can go with this. Go Seahawks.

Firstly, we need Seattle to win for this game to mean something to Green Bay. Next, if that happens, that "rivalry" (which typically I don't buy into but those two teams and fanbases truly, truly hate each other) will simply amp up the meaning for both teams. And in that sort of game, I'll take midget Rodgers and Green Bay over fricking Christian Ponder, even if it is in that dome.

You gotta throw out things like "records," "stats," and tangible things when rivalries are in play.........

Well, the Seattle part is looking good so far

Bears OL and late relayed playcalling wouldn't play well in Seattle.

Lord, if they got in, I'd strongly prefer playing in Green Bay over playing in CLink.

They'd get curbstomped in Seattle. In Green Bay, you'd have a punchers chance.

It's pretty crappy that Sherman gets to play by continually delaying his suspension. Remember when the Williams guys from Minny played for what seemed like two years with a suspension pending on them? I'm not even sure if they ever served it.

Looks like it's gonna be in SF at this point, if the Bears get in. No way they lose to Arizona to allow Seattle to pass them.

There's really no good match up for the Bears OL or playcalling though

I'm fine with this Seattle outcome as long as the Packers try next week, because if they try they probably win
