Week 15 Green Bay @ Lovie's Chokers (No GB Fans Allowed)

I fully expect the Bears will keep the game close for awhile and then lose by two TDs.

You're probably correct but, in keeping close I'd love to see the Bears attempt to run the ball down GB throats. Most especially Matthews I'd run right at him and try to pound the [expletive] out of him.

Aaron Rodgers wearing a thong?

Fun Lovie Smith quote:

“If you want to feature Kellen Davis, you can do that," coach Lovie Smith said at the NFL scouting combine. “Great size, great in-line blocker, skilled enough of an athlete to be able to move outside and do some things.”

Rowdy crowd on the Jay Cutler Show today.

Recap? Meatballs or legitimate criticism?

Huh? It was just background noise.

Yeah...just sounded like they were in a bigger place, and a couple of ppl trying to be part of the show, hollering some things out. All in good fun.

Only real news to come out of it is that Cutler is fine and has every intention of practicing/playing this week.

It looks like I'm going to be in Toronto for this game visiting family. Is there a way to watch the game online without having to pay for the Sunday Ticket? Or a good site that streams NFL games?

Fun fact. With the latest loss, under Lovie Smith the Bears are 14-46 when trailing at the half.

That number doesn't look good, but I'd like to see some other coaches records when trailing at the half. Usually when you are losing at halftime you are not playing well. On the other side, I think he's something like 50-10 when leading at halftime, which seems pretty damn good.

14 wins when trailing at halftime over 9 seasons is something like 1.7 wins per season, which doesn't seem all that bad. Maybe I'm way off though...

Edit: And when I say 'doesnt seem all that bad' I mean relative to his overall coaching record. I'd probably be a little surprised if that was Bill Belichek's record, given that he wins 12 games a year, but for a near .500 coach like lovie, that sounds about right.

Packers 2.5 pt favorites per Brad Briggs.

I saw that line earlier and was surprised. Chicago is home and they've been losing to runners, not through the air. But still,

they look like garbage on both sides of the ball and should lose big.

I guess the whole train of thought is that Lovie is a bad coach when it comes to making halftime adjustments, not possessing the right offensive gameplan and being unable to help rally the team from a deficit.

Packers will cover that by at least 3 times. No way the Bears keep this within 10 points unless there is some garbage TD at the end.

And that would be a fine train of thought if we knew that Lovie's record is worse than other coaches out there.

Using Advanced NFL Stats, if you are down 3 points at halftime, you have a 35% chance to win, down 7 points, you have a 25% chance, and 10 points a 17% chance.

So, a 23% chance (14-46) on any halftime deficit is probably about average, as is an 80% win probability with a lead (50-10), maybe better than usual with a lead.

Thanks...I tried to search around for those kind of stats but couldnt find them. As fun as it is to take a terrible looking record of 14-46 and use it to rip on Lovie, it doesn't look all that bad compared to the average coach.

Do we know for sure that Cutler is able to play? It could get really ugly if he doesn't

Yes, he'll play.

Just as important - the Packers are hopeful that Matthews will play next week. Woodson too.

Gould, McManis and Steltz all on IR.

K Olindo Mare signed, WR Joe Anderson promoted from practice squad, LB Jerry Franklin signed off the Dallas practice squad and Andre Gurode waived.

Whoa. Gould had said he was good.
