Right. TY is the source (short for ABTY7), 12/4 is the date...

Once Victorino signs, that just leaves Bourn as a worthwhile outfielder, right?

I'm going to be pretty annoyed if we get aced out of all the good outfielders. It was a CF/OF heavy market, we've got a ton of money, we have one MLB quality starting OFer, and Hoyer even admitted we could use a veteran because we don't have any prospects that would be blocked.

Red Sox front runners on Shane Victorino. Offered three year $38 mill deal.

Someone on PSD said that it was a typo. It's 3 years $30 million, not $38 million.

I think that person is wrong.

Is Victorino hurt or something? He's been averaging 4 WAR a year. Why would 3/38 be terrible?

Because he's gonna be 32-34 years old during that contract and is probably not going to be stealing 40 bases a season.

I'm not saying it's horrible, just not right for the Cubs at this time.

Guess so. I was just repeating what I saw.

A Justin Upton to Philly for Cliff Lee + Cash is being discussed. Why? I don't know.

My guess is that it's an unoffical 3 team trade of some sort. When you have some of the best young pitching on Earth, you don't just give up a 25 year old superstar and top trade chip for a 35 year old. I know Arizona's in the hunt for a SS, so it could be that something pre-arranged. Texas?

Victorino to play RF for the Red Sox..........

Outfield now consists of Jonny Gomes, Ellsbury and Victorino. Does that sound like a group that will get Red Sox fans excited after the collapse in 2011 and the Bobby Valentine debacle in 2012?

After a bad year, Shane Victorino gets almost a 50% raise. This will sound like a bitter old man, but the money these players are getting is ridiculous.
