Bonds, Clemens and Sosa are set to show up on the Hall ballot for the first time, with all sides eager to find out whether drug allegations will block the former stars from reaching the shrine.

Craig Biggio, Mike Piazza and Curt Schilling are certain to be among the other first-time eligibles. Jack Morris, Jeff Bagwell and Tim Raines are the top holdover candidates.

ONE MILLION PERCENT.

In my heart.

How many votes/what % did McGwire get? I bet Sosa gets at least half the votes/percentage McGwire had.

Edit: He got 112 votes which was just over 19%. I'd guess Sosa gets around 50-60 votes, so around 10% +/-

What do you have against Morris?

Latest in a long line of meathead ex-players who don't belong in the HOF who piss and moan until they're let in.

Leave Santo out of this.

seasons with 5+ WAR

Santo: 7

Morris: 1

i'd say he was a little more rightly aggrieved

and you clearly didn't read the "don't belong in the HOF" part

Jack Morris can go [expletive] himself, that's all I know.

Haha, you beat me. If he gets in before any of those 3, I'm not sure the HOF can sink any lower.

If they let in Andre Dawson there's no reason why they wouldn't let in Jack Morris too.

1. If you let in every player better than the worst player in the HOF, you'd have to add 100 guys.

2. Andre Dawson is more deserving than Jack Morris (though he also probably doesn't belong)

I used Dawson more as an illustration of a player that was good but not great but got in due to the popular belief that he was a lot better than the stats suggest.

The type of person that would vote for Morris knows about only one war, the Spanish American, because he fought in it.

Ken Tremendous would be proud.

The Hall of Fame sucks.

I mean, I'm sure the museum is awesome because baseball history is great but as far as who goes to the Hall of Fame, it's hard for me to care about that anymore.

the career ERA+ leaderboard- go ahead and try to find Jack Morris on there

But he didn't care about personal stats, he cared about winning. And that's what mattered. Just ask him.

awesome. he's just as good as tom browning. and worse than carlos zambrano and freddy garcia.

Guess: he'll get around 15-20% the first year.

I think when Bonds gets into the hall, the mindset changes a bit. It will be kind of interesting to see how much the voting changes (if at all) once the king roider of all time gets into the hall.
