I still think it's silly to preclude anyone from the HOF based on steroid allegations. All you're doing is rewarding the people who got away with it. As others have stated, players have been using all sorts of substances to increase performance as long as baseball has existed.

But of course, that's why I don't get a HOF vote.

On another note... imagine being a pitcher. You've got guys cranking homers off of you that you know damn well are juicing. That could get a little bit frustrating. I can see how some players might feel the need to level the playing field.

Is this guy serious? He makes the claim without PEDs Sosa is a borderline HOF. He bases his argument around lack of longevity.

...but for a few years there he mashed the ol' horsehide.

Still, it's a short peak, and Sosa doesn't have a lot to go around it.

He uses WAR as his main statistic, but then includes MVP shares as part of his argument. Also, he hand picks 5 and 7 years of peak to prove his point. I would love to see what those stats look like on a 10, 12, etc. years of peak because even if those other guys on average have better years than Sosa in say years 8, 9, and 10, he was so much better than many of them in years 1-7 that he still will likely have been a better player of 10+ years.

IMO Sammee belongs in the HOF as a ticket paying visitor.

The Fergie Jenkins fan is upset that Sosa was rumored to be on drugs.

Could be a fan of Fergie, the singer.

SSR's comment would still be relevant then.

Sosa's publicist tells RedEye, "We're learning social media, we're not pros at it yet, but we're working on it."

If your publicist is just now learning how to use social media then you need to hire a new publicist, Sammy.

Also, if pinterest is where your publicist goes for your first foray into social media, you might need to hire a new publicist.
