BYE and Game 6 - Detroit Lions @ BEARS - 10/22 MNF 7:30

Were ribs his actual injury for sure? Or could it be something else and the Bears were just covering with the rib thing?

Yes. Cutler was interviewed after the game. He said he landed right on the ball, which is what the replay clearly showed.

He was in good spirits, so it was encouraging. He admitted it affected his ability to follow through and affected the playcalling. That part was worrisome. But he didn't seem to concerned about it. So that was encouraging.

Am I the only one who saw that interview on Sportscenter?

Yea, but he did a whole postgame PC seeming like everything was fine after the Chargers game last year. Then I wake up in the second half of the SNF game from my nap to hear he's out 6-8 weeks. Gonna have ghost pains from that one.

I don't think anyone was going to keep Jay from going back in, he had to remaining idiots wrong.

I don't see the need from Suh to bury Jay's head in the ground at the end there, but it's to be expected of the dirtiest player in the game.

The "need?" The "need" is try to rattle the guy at the very least. You try to get away with anything you can when hitting someone.

I didn't think the play looked dirty. Cutler was in an awkward position and trying to make a play rather than protecting himself.

Suh also looked legitimately concerned after the play when Cutler was down.

Relatively speaking.

You're right, he definitely looked a LOT better than the previous games, but he still looks like a shell of his former self.

God, can you just imagine how absurdly nasty this defense would be if he were even 2011 Urlacher?

I'm really don't want to, because then I will be sad.

Reilly just said that Cutler said he'd never wear a flak jacket.

Also said that Delmas waited to get his picture taken with Cutler after the game because, "That guy is the definition of a warrior."

"There were no harsh words between us,'' said Suh, who was fined $15,000 for a hit on Cutler in 2010. "I wanted to make sure he was good. I'm never a person to injure anybody and take anybody out of the game.

"That's why I checked on him when he was there on the ground. I asked one of his people if he was OK. He got up, ran by me, hit me in my stomach and told me he was fine. And later on, I checked on him again."

@BMarshall: A Suh. What u did to Jay wasn't cool. Great players don't have to do that.

Uh oh.

Yeah he's not happy.

@BMarshall: A Suh. Something I've learned and now passing down to you. Succeed with character

The entire game, the announcers were criticizing the Bears safeties for playing too deep. Yet somehow the defense managed to hold a shutout until there was about 30 seconds left in the entire game.

They're doing something right.

I didn't really consider that criticism.

It's looking more and more like the replacement refs will cost the Packers the division.

Get the hell out of here with that.

"This was two evenly matched teams," Lions coach Jim Schwartz said afterward. "When you're playing a good team like Chicago, one that's leading the NFC North, we're on the road, we're not going to win the way we played."

Could've been ugly if they weren't so "evenly matched".

Asked if he received a pain-killing injection at halftime, Cutler said: "We did some stuff back here in the back room."

Please be ok.

That is an absurd interpretation of how the announcers were calling the game. Gruden was creaming his pants over the Bears.

I think he'll be OK. Remain positive. It's not his legs, or his arm.

Yeah, they were just saying it was unusual, and was daring the Lions to run. Which explains why the Bears gave up more running yards than they usually do. I fully expect the Bears to get back to shutting down the run after this.
