Since the AFL/NFL merger, only 1 team has made the playoffs after starting 0-4. In addition, with the Falcons 4-0, the Saints only hope would be a wild card.

I absolutely love it when the coach calls a TO to ice the kicker and the play goes off anyway and the kicker misses it.

 

Icing the kicker has shown to have no benefit and its stupid that coaches still think this is a good strategy.

That 1 team was SD, who finished 8-8. Atlanta is clearly not going to allow 8-8 to be good enough for the playoffs.

Giants had time, and a down, for a little 5-yard out play...

They were also pretty dumb to go that deep (on the play Barden was called for OPI) once they were in FG range. Should have gone short to set up a better FG attempt rather than risk a sack.

 

Also, icing the kicker was dumb. Coughlin should have run another play once Reid took the timeout.
