Vitters is going to be a very interesting case to watch unfold. My guess, is Theo and Jed thought extremely little of him, when they came on board. We're going to need some guys that take more walks and get on base, at the major league level obviously. But if his pitch recognition has improved dramatically and he just puts it in play, it's not really his fault, is it? My thinking is from top to bottom in the entire organization, if you asked Theo to tell us what are the 5 best developments of the year, Vitters is one of the 5. I hope he gets a September callup and plays all month and gets the job next year. I don't really want to deal him, he's really making me rethink my opinion of his upside.

1. Vitters' development

2. Rizzo still looks really good

3. Soler signing

4. Castro not going to jail

5. Nobody killed by crumbling Wrigley infrastructure

0. Nobody seems to notice or care that they are a big market team that isn't even trying to win

brett jackson is just brutal right now.

It's really weird. His last 10 games, he's got 17 k's in 37 at bats. But has an .847 OPS. I hope they've given him some sort of target K rate he needs to stay at between now and the rest of the year, before he's given the promotion. Because, on the surface, without looking at the K's, I'm OK with the rest of his numbers.

I wonder if the folks you were trying to piss off with that one take the bait.

I don't know whether it's funny or sad, that Brett had a double, a homer, a steal, and a walk, but the 2 K's are what we rightfully care about.

The DSL1 Cubs and White Sox played a hell of a game today evidently. White Sox led 2-1 heading to the 8 th and they scored an insurance run to go up 3-1. Cubs came back with 3 of their own to take a 4-3 lead into the 9th. White Sox scored 4, to take a 7-4 lead. After scoring two runs, down 7-6, with 2 outs, Roney Alcala, an 18 year old 3B with solid numbers so far, hit a walk off grand slam, to win it 10-7.

i wonder how soon vogelbach and shoulders will change places if they both continue at their current paces

My guess is they'd move Vogelbach up and alternate them between 1B and DH.

Nothing groundbreaking, but nice to see nonetheless.
