he is so dumb and tone deaf that it's almost astounding

can you imagine if a white manager said that he wanted more white players because they're better at (insert positive baseball trait) here? [expletive] dusty, he should get suspended. (not to mention his incredibly tone-deaf comments on domestic abuse). what a dick.

It is astounding that multiple MLB teams have gone through the interviewing process and have decided Dusty Baker was the best option at that particular time to become their manager. Just bonkers.

Did anyone know that Ronald Torreyes had reached the big leagues and has a career slash line of .333/.429/.400(in 8 PA)?

My White Sox ticket rep asked me if I was excited about the addition of Brett Lawrie.

I don't actually care about the White Sox, but after our offseason, I did find this humorous.

unless you're so loaded that the money doesn't matter even a little bit and a huge white sox fan, why the hell would anyone own white sox season tickets?

i'm almost positive they could get tickets cheaper on stubhub most of the time, and they wouldn't be committing to all 81 games. not like they have any resale value. and the added benefit that you'd be able to have some variety in seating choices.

i'm seeing zero upside to it.

i dunno, that guy seams like a sleaze so it doesn't appear there's any value in trying to understand his motivations

but the thought that maybe someone would expense those things did occur to me

Former Cubs minor leaguer Lincoln Holdzkom was killed in a car accident. We acquired him in the infamous Todd Wellemeyer trade with the Marlins. He was 33 and pitching in New Zealand. Sad news.

That's not a real person.

IIRC, he was discussed as a fringe 40-man candidate one year.

ETA: He was taken in rule 5, returned, and granted FA.

Given his notoriety, I'm giving myself partial credit.

Edmonds is going to get a stupid low amount of HOF votes and it's going to piss me off a lot.

He's a borderline guy to begin with before you even start looking at all the guys he should be behind with the backlog of the past few years along with new guys added

Jim Edmonds?

He'd be one of the poster boys for the "Hall of Very Good" thing.

He was the best defensive CF of his generation and his offensive numbers are good enough, not many CF have a career ops of .900. I don't think people realize how good he was because he played for the Angles for so long.
