Never would've figured somebody on NSBB would've admitted to having heard Royals at some point.

How could you not have heard it? It's catchy as hell and everywhere.

I know. I was making a joke.

In the music thread, people will deny having ever heard songs that are constantly playing everywhere no matter where you go. Hipster NSBB.

Just musical oafs like Derwood. Usually it's talking about [expletive] like hearing Macklemore a zillion times and not actually knowing whose song it is.

PS: Macklemore sucks even more since we had that discussion.

Why? It's a good song off of a decent album.

Exactly. Glory and Gore is my favorite song.

Who said that?

Hanley Ramirez just took a fastball flush on the hand and had to leave the game. Based on his reaction, he could be out for awhile.

As a sidenote, as much as I dislike the Dodgers, I love listening to Vin Scully broadcasts.

Me.

so YOU'RE the musical oaf? got it

No, you're of the ilk to do the whole "I've never even heard random insanely popular song that has played literally everywhere." Or maybe you're not. I don't know; either way, you're a musical oaf.

It's a generally unpopular opinion, but I can't stand Vin Scully and his completely emotionless delivery. A [expletive] scud missile could take out the center field bleachers in the middle of the game and he'd describe it with the same tone as "Juan Uribe draws a pinch hit walk". I know he's a legend and he commands respect, but I don't really give a [expletive] about him one bit.

Scully's WAY past his good days.

I really like Vin as well. He has his senior moments and is not near as good as he used to be, but at this point he is almost a national treasure. I watch the Dodgers often because of him. Also, Jon Miller is really good.

I'm way over thinking this...

How are we defining a "national treasure"? I just think more non-baseball fans probably would name Harry Caray or Bob Uecker before Vin Scully if they were to list baseball broadcasters.

I've seen/heard plenty of Vin Scully jokes/references on TV over the years; hell, doing an impression of him was practically a hack comedian cliche for a while. I think a ton of people would know his voice as soon as they hear it even if they don't know his name

He's not their best prospect tho. Just saying.

Yeah, he still has the voice, but a good portion of the time he's completely lost. Not quite as bad as Harry Caray in his last few years, but not anywhere near what he used to be.
