Eww gross, no to all three of those going over for Stanton. Bryant might become the next Stanton, and Almora will probably be one of the better CF'er in the game. Stanton is an oft injured beast that would need a large contract extension to really make him worth acquiring.

If the Cubs attempt to get him, a package would likely start with Soler since a) he's also a RF'er and b) he's Cuban and the Marlins are superficial ass hats who will exploit his nationality to sell tickets

If they would do Soler, Alcantara, and Vogelbach or anything less than that, I'm in.

I'd do Soler, Almora, Alcantara.

Wow, that seems a bit steep, but, then again, Alcantara has risen quickly, Soler hasn't really shown a ton, and Almora is still very young. I'd really be bummed to give up Almora...at least until watching several 500+ foot HRs that roll down Kenmore.

I love Almora and would try to do everything possible to do that trade without him, but if push came to shove, yeah, I'd do it.

umm... no

Bryant's obviously a good player, but no.

I agree, bad phrasing on my part. Meant say something with a little bit more projection. Sounds more definitive, my bad. Didn't notice till now.

Just say you spelled Baez wrong and we're good.

protip: snarking to the effect of "hey your team's prospect is good but you're overrating him" is generally not a winning strategy for arguing on the internet.

The certainty of that comparison is obviously not there(Bryant has < 150 professional PA after all), but he's more similar to Stanton than Baez is.

Easy bud

Guess those tape measure bombs at the pro level don't mean much...

I like Bryant a whole [expletive] lot, but other than being big, they don't have much in common. Baez is the one putting them in the parking lot and having stories written about his light tower power.

Yes, but there are still some scouts who think Bryant has as much, if not more power than Baez, and they're both pushing 80 on the scale (I think some grade them out there already). Bryant profiles as a corner OF'er with big power who shares a much similar build to Stanton. That's kind of what I was referring to, though I did still originally accidentally state he's practically Stanton already, and that was a silly mistake.

Plenty of people are writing about Bryant's power too, in fact people are pointing to Stanton specifically as a comparison for how he hits the ball with such loft and it carries further than expected. That, his approach at the plate, and his size are why he's a similar type of player. Baez is a 6 foot ball of twitch fiber, he's Gary Sheffield to Bryant's Stanton/Glaus, as far as archetypes go.
