Did ESPN ever post the video of your debate with Rob Parker yet, I missed it yesterday.

No. I have asked them for it.

How frustrating is it to listen to people make someone's MVP case, which is clearly wrong, and only other reasoning be "Watch the Games!"?

It's hilarious to see those tweets when I'm sweating my ... off at an instructional league game. Yeah, I watch a little baseball, pal.

Well I didn't know Keith Law watched more baseball than I did. Consider my opinions retracted.

What?

He was responding to Rob Parker portraying "stats people" as nerds who stare at a calculator and don't watch games.

Where's my pocket protector, glasses, laptop and another date-less night? I wanna fit in. Lol

29m Rob Parker ‏@RobParkerESPN

I've watched that Billy Beane movie 20 times and the A's never won the World Series. Stats so lame, they couldn't add a Hollywood-ending.

To all the stat-geeks that follow @keithlaw: please put ur calculators down and watch the damn game. That's why the A's haven't won jack.

Homer Bailey threw a no-hitter tonight against the Pirates. He struck out 10 and only two guys reached base (one on a walk and the other by error). It's the seventh no-hitter in the majors this year which ties the modern record from 1990 and 1991.

The loss was also Pittsburgh's 81st of the year meaning they have to win out just to avoid their 20th straight losing season.

Ryan Howard's season ended on a fluke play/mishap/injury again this year. Apparently he dropped the big lead pipe he swings in the on deck circle on his foot and broke his toe.

So long as the MLB postseason splits the Wild Card (which is awesome) and insists that all substantive tiebreaks be decided with additional games (which is also awesome), the potential for awesomeness is awesome.

2013 scenario.

Cubs, Cardinals and Brewers all finish 90-72, in a three-way tie for the division. Additionally, the Braves finish 90-72, and the two wild card spots have to come from these four teams as well.

Tiebreak Day 1: Brewers at Cardinals, Cardinals win, Brewers dumped down to WC tiebreaker

Tiebreak Day 2: Cubs at Cardinals, Cubs win, secure divisional title, Cardinals dumped down to WC tiebreaker

Tiebreak Day 3: Brewers at Cardinals, Cardinals win, secure WC spot

Tiebreak Day 4: Braves at Brewers, Brewers win, secure WC spot

Tiebreak Day 5: The Wild Card Showdown, Brewers at Cardinals (for the third time in five days), Cardinals win and secure WC and advance to the regular postseason.

Then the Cubs and Cardinals meet up again in the NLCS.

I'm not sure if this is true, but how weird is it that the Brewers could lose two straight 'tie breaker' games, but win the 3rd and make the playoffs?

I know it's not likely but how would a one-game playoff affect Cabrera and the Triple Crown? For example, say he's one home run behind Josh Hamilton after 162 games but hits two home runs in a one-game playoff against Chicago. Is he still considered a Triple Crown winner?

The game counts toward the regular season statistics, so yes. I still remember hoping maybe, just maybe, Sosa could hit four in the tiebreaker with the Giants and tie McGwire.

The Pirates' fate has been sealed...

There's an early Simpsons where Bart's teacher is handing back tests and Bart upon seeing his F starts crying. The teacher says that she thought that Bart should be used to failing by now. Bart responded by saying, "But this time I actually tried!"

That must be what Pirates fans feel like.

Of course, being a Cubs fan, I know exactly what that feels like.

I thought you were going to blow our mind with some sort of that's the last time Pittsburgh was over .500 coincidence.

It aired Oct 11, 1990, and the Pirates were eliminated from the playoffs the next day.

I don't know if the numbers are true, but a local radio guy in Milwuakee was saying today that the White Sox are going to draw under 2 million fans this year (either said 1.6 or 1.8 was what they drew)
