Ten years ago today, the Expos made what was, in hindsight, one of the worst trades in history. The Indians traded them Bartolo Colon in exchange for Cliff Lee, Brandon Phillips, and Grady Sizemore.

That deal officially killed baseball in Montreal.

Well that's not true.

Which part of it isn't true?

That the deal officially killed baseball in Montreal.

Carlos Ruiz hitting .361/.427/.579 and he's already at a 3.8 fWAR.

Is it odd that a 33 year old catcher just 'figured it out'?

He's been a decent hitter the past few years but this is on another level. I keep waiting for him to fall back down to earth a little.

Colby Rasmus seems to really have figured it out in Toronto. After an awful start he has a .309/.356/.619/.974 line with 8 home runs over the last 28 days. I really wish we could've figured out a way to trade for him while he was in TLR's doghouse last year.

I read somewhere that he made a pretty significant change to his batting stance. He's absolutely mashing now and still getting great pitches to hit with Bautista and Encarnacion right behind him.

This is what happened. Most impressive was the home run he hit off Axford.

And if the Cubs would have offered a few more bits of string than what the Jays did, Mozeliak would have gladly swapped him out.

So this is the blurb under the headline in a Yahoo story about Chris Sale:

In an era of coddled young pitchers, Chicago wants Chris Sale to go out and throw.

Really? "Coddled?" Go [expletive] yourself.

And he found his plate patience again and has 58 walks. That does, however, come with an .216 AVG and 121 K's (on pace for 261 according to ESPN, which is [expletive] insane)

Stephen Drew back in the lineup tonight for the first time since breaking his ankle nearly a full year ago. Given the context, you shouldn't need a warning about my use of the spoiler tag.

Won't happen tonight. Went yard in the first inning.

Thank god I got to see him last year in AA when he played against the Naturals and got his autograph. The funny part is I'm 6'3" 230 and I thought he was bigger than me. Dude is built like a NFL RB.

In the dumber than dumb ideas department:

Orioles manager Buck Showalter on Sunday wouldn't rule out calling up Dylan Bundy later this season if the team remained in the playoff race.
