Pittsburgh and Syracuse to the ACC.

Louisville and Rutgers will be gone by 2014.

UConn, USF and Cincinnati will join the Mountain West with KU.

Since I only care about basketball, I'd love to add KU and UCONN. If we have to keep adding teams that is.

Catholic 7 (plus an undetermined number of teams) will keep the Big East name and most likely start play next season, per ESPN's Brett McMurphy.

I really don't understand how this is going to work. So in addition to the Catholic bloc, potentially SLU, Dayton and Creighton, there will also be Louisville, Rutgers, USF, Connecticut, Central Florida, Houston, SMU, Navy, San Diego State, Memphis and Boise? Or have most of those schools fallen through? The Big East is such a mess and I can't keep up with it.

The soon-to-be-ex-Big East will still include the teams in the latter group (until Louisville and Rutgers bolt of course). They'll be a different conference and won't be affiliated with the Catholic 7/Big East.

The most important part to me is that it means ND will probably manage to get to the ACC this off-season, though remaining in the soon-to-be-ex-Big East is still a (hopefully remote) possibility, as is playing one season in the Catholic 7/Big East if joining the ACC can't happen this summer.

Xavier and Butler are going to join the new Big East (the one with the catholic 7). Creighton rumored to be the 10th team for the conference, which would begin play next season.

Oh yeah, why is the most recognizable Catholic school in the country not going to play in this conference?

I really hope SLU can gain entry. The A-10 is going to get whacked and it's a [expletive] conference as is.

They're too Jewish.

Because they already agreed to join the ACC?

When has that stopped schools from changing affiliations?

I don't see the problem there.

South Carolina shooting 7 for 11 from 3, including a banked in corner three and 24% shooter Damien Leonard making 3 of 4. Basketball is just the best sport.

Duke @ Virginia tonight is a pick 'em? What am I missing here that Vegas sees?

Don't know but its a road game against a non terrible team. I'm rooting for a Duke loss tonight and win over Miami this weekend. Gonzaga also to lose at BYU tonight and IU just might stay #1 after a loss for a second time this year.

Duke down 13 with 6 minutes left in the game.

You're thinking of Wash U.

SLU getting kept out of the new Big East would suck. Screw Creighton.

The ACC is a better home for ND's non-football and men's basketball sports.
