Thank you to the Big ten for beating each other up. Illinois, Michigan State and Ohio State already with conference losses. Of course I say this and Michigan will come out and lose at home to Iowa tomorrow.

Today's line for Duke's Quinn Cook: 0-11 FG, 0 PTS, 14 AST.

Your move, Pressey.

Before I even read the second line I was thinking that sounded like a Pressey game.

I'd be cool with this.

Good game so far between Michigan and Iowa. Michigan starting to score at will but Iowa is mostly keeping up with them hitting some big shots to stay in it.

Edit: And as I say that Michigan finishes the half on an 8-0 run to take an 11 point halftime lead

When I watched that live I dont remember that shot on the ESPN feed, they only showed the worthless shot from behind the shooter. I would hope the refs had every angle before overturning the call.

The Pac-12 claimed the next day the refs made the right call because of a camera angle that was never shown on TV.

That's not the first time they're said something like that. The then PAC-10 used the same excuse to explain a garbage ruling for Oklahoma @ Oregon football in 2006.

Yeah, that's correct.

I'm probably losing my mind, but Kevin Young looks a good three inches shorter than he did last year.

Michigan is so good. I didn't think they would be "great" this year because of their lack of size and production from that size, but they have like the 4 of the 5 best players in the conference under 6'7".

I was never crazy enough to think Iowa would beat Michigan on the road but I was really hopeful that they wouldn't lose by the margin that they did.

Why Minnesota makes me more nervous than Ohio State did:

2) #9 Minnesota at #34 Illinois (Wednesday, 9 PM ET, Big Ten Network). I didn’t think the Gophers would have much success getting offensive rebounds against Michigan State in their Big Ten opener, but they managed to nearly meet their season average (47%) against a defense that is usually solid at preventing second chances. Then Minnesota went ahead and grabbed 64% of its misses against vertically-challenged Northwestern yesterday. Have fun with that, Illini.

this seems like a good place as any to put this

Man, I just looked at Illinois' schedule for the rest of the year. Divides into 3 parts pretty easily. If they can win this week @ home vs. Minnesota, that sets them up for what should be no worse than 4-2 in the first 6, possibly 5-1 if they can win in Madison. Then they have a 5 game gauntlet against Michigan, @ MSU, Wisconsin, IU, and @ Minnesota. If they can win a minimum of 2 of those, they then have a pretty soft 7 game stretch to end the season where they should be able to go 5-2 (losses @ Michigan and OSU), putting them at 11-7 in conference. I think that's pretty realistic and probably sets them up for a 4-5 seed in the tourney.

I know it's not easy going into Madison and winning and it's possible they can turn a game into a yuck it up fest in the 40's, but Wisconsin is really bad this year. Illinois should win by double digits there Saturday.

I hope so, since I'm going.

"really bad" is a stretch. We have 4 losses (2 on road, 1 neutral, 1 at home) to teams with a combined 46-9 record (Florida, Creighton, Virginia, and Marquette). But most def a down year. I apologize to anyone that even looked at the Wisc-Neb box score.

I'll be in attendance as well. Badgers need to just guard the perimeter and own the paint with Berg and Evans. But Illinois should foul Evans at all times. His FT shooting is just horrendous (south of 40%).

Conference multi-bid breakdown:

B1G - 8

ACC - 6

Big East - 6

MWC - 6

Big 12 - 5

Pac 12 - 4

SEC - 4

Atlantic 10 - 3

WCC - 3

MVC - 2

EDIT: And before anyone else says it, yes, I know KP overrates Wisconsin.

EDIT 2: Last 4 out: Stanford, Temple, Oklahoma, St. Joseph's

Interesting seeding there.

Arizona a 4-loss, 4 seed? Michigan and IU with the same record but IU gets the 1 seed. Butler as a 13-seed is probably a crime too.
