It's actually Andrus at DH (with Young at SS).

I'm amazed that JD has kept this imbecile around as long as he has.

Oops, misread that. That's even worse!

I think it's tough for a GM to fire Ron Washington given the team's recent success. He's just brutal.

Seriously, the Rangers would be better off letting a box of rocks set the lineup.

Yes, I'm sure about that idiot. RT @txtgab: you sure about that idiot? I mean it's not like they're back to back American league champions

If Elvis Andrus lost both his feet in a horrible pitching-machine accident, I'd still play him at short over Michael Young.

So did anyone see the end of the Cardinals-Mets game? Andres Torres hit a double and afterwards, they threw the ball over to first to see if he missed the bag and the ump called him out. Replays showed Torres clearly hit first base.

Robot umps!

What the [expletive] Orioles!?!

Orioles and the Nats have sure been the stories of the season. Between them and the A's, and in contrast the Phillies, Angels, and Red Sox, it's a nice reminder that if the best teams on paper automatically went to the playoffs, the regular season would be 162 games too long.

Remaining schedules of WC 2 Contenders:

Cardinals 1: Magic Number 12

1 Astros (home)

3 Cubs (road)

3 Astros (road)

3 Nats (home)

3 Reds (home)

Easy road trip, followed by what could be a tough homestand. They finish the season on the road vs the NL's 2 best teams, however by then, even if the Cards havn't clinched, the Reds and Nats likely will have and could be resting players, certainly starting pitchers would be on limited duty.

Dodgers: 2 GB E# 12

1 Nats (road)

3 Reds (road)

3 Padres (road)

3 Rockies (home)

3 Giants (home)

Very tough road ahead of them. Those bats better start swinging, and hope for vintage Beckett and healthy Kershaw.

Brewers 2 GB, E# 12

1 Bucs (road)

4 Nats (road)

3 Reds (road)

3 Astros (home)

3 Padres (home)

Very similar schedule to the Cards, the difference, and it's a big one being that they face the Nats and Reds on the road, whereas the Cards get them at home.

Phillies 4 GB E# 10

1 Mets (road)

3 Braves (home)

3 Nats (home)

3 Marlins (road)

3 Nats (road)

Good luck with that. Hell of a second half run, only to go 1-3 vs. The Astros.

Going by schedules alone, this thing is the Cardinal's to win or lose. The Brewers are the only team I could see making them sweat. In either case, I'm hoping for the Braves to quickly dispatch them in the 1 game playoff. On a side note, the Nats have a tough road ahead as well, but with their magic # at 9, they should be OK.

Today's attendance at Cell: 13,797

Pennant fever!

I'm actually going tomorrow night because its dog day, and my fiance loves to take our dog to that game each year. There might be more people attending because of dog day than because of the game.

I'd take my dog there just so it could take a [expletive] in The Cell

How does dog day work? My dog would need to piss and [expletive] at least a few times.

Hope your dog shits on AJP.

Brewers just got the KO punch. Axford blew the save in the 9th of a 1-0 game. Gave up a solo HR to Frazier to tie it and a walk off triple to Dioner Navarro.

I had no idea Navarro was still in the leauge, nonetheless on the Reds and also he's only 28!?!

Sorry, I just saw this. I've gone the last 3 seasons....basically you have to buy your tickets in like February to get one. The first year we had to call the ticketing department and ask for them to send us a form for tickets, before tickets even went on sale. If you are among the first people to send yours back, you will also get a Parade Pass, so you can walk your dog around the stadium with all the other dog owners (by far the best time for a dog to [expletive]) while the teams are warming up on the field. Despite it being the White Sox, it was pretty cool.

Regardless of whether you get a parade pass or not, you enter in one gate dedicated to the dog seats, and you enter a concourse in the OF that is blocked off from the rest of the stadium. You basically have the entire OF concourse from RF to LF to sit with all of the dogs. They have patches of grass placed strategically around the concourse for the dogs to relieve themselves, as well as a bunch of water bowls. As far as sitting, you are only allowed to sit with your dogs in the top 10 rows of every OF section. It is all general admission, so it tends to be hard to get a seat without cramming into a packed session. Since I don't care about the White Sox very much and because my dog goes psycho whenever she smells hot dogs and cant sit still, I don't sit in the seats for very long. There are cool dog related stands set up, and companies giving away stuff like portable dog bowls and treats.

Overall its a fun experience, although the parade is by far the best part. I usually only stay 5-6 innings unless the game is really good or the Sox are playing a good team because the novelty wears off by then, and as I mentioned before, its hard to get her to sit down and stay still.

One interesting race to watch in the final days will be the NL WC 2. It's down the the Cards and Dodgers, and Cards have a 2 game lead. The Cards are playing the Reds, who have long since clinched the division, but are next and neck with the Nats for home field advantage.

Meanwhile the Dodgers play the Giants, who have long since clinched. This is also one of baseball's biggest rivalries, and surely the Giants would love to hammer the final nail in the Dodgers coffin, especially after the A Gon blockbuster, which many thought would allow the Dodgers to coast to the division despite being I'm not sure how many games behind the Giants at the time.

Sitting 2 games back, the Dodgers are relying upon the Cards losing as much as winning themselves, but it's not impossible that they could at least force a 1 game playoff.

I didn't realize that Oakland was a game behind the Rangers. They win tonight (up 3-1 in the 7th) they play a game for the division tomorrow. Interesting.
