It starts this week. Apparently the Nantz types are all aflutter about the early spring that means Augusta's "color" has disappeared and turned to green.

After winning the Arnold Palmer Invitational two weekends ago, Tiger Woods have turned the golf world on its collective ear.

Woods finally broke through after his very public incident and now is the clear favorite to win the 2012 Masters Tournament, according to BOVADA.

Woods has slipped a little after starting the week as a (4/1) pick. He's still being shown ample respect, but the betting folks have expressed some doubt in his ability to win two tournaments in a row.

The four-time Masters champion is now a (9/2) favorite with Rory McIlroy (6/1) and Phil Mickelson (11/1) right behind him. McIlroy is an exceptional talent and many expect he'll put on quite a show in his quest for a green jacket.

Some other tempting bets include Luke Donald and Rickie Fowler.

Donald is the number one ranked player in the world and has (16/1) odds while Fowler is a legitimate talent (even if he needs to prove quite a bit) who could surprise and has been put down at (100/1).

Hasn't Woods had absurd odds over the past couple years considering how shitty he's played?

Yeah, it's a bit of a Dallas Cowboys effect: the national fan is going to bet on it no matter how good they actually are, so the odds are going to trend worse than they probably should be.

Probably. I never really pay attention to golf odds but he'd be a perfect candidate to keep getting the public money.

Quick look for 2011 Masters had Tiger as a slim favorite at +705 with Phil at +750 and the next group at +1415.

ETA: Makes sense that they ran with the odds now that he has his first win in 3 years and the average bettor thinks he's back.

Feeling ready to play the Masters myself at this point since this Friday will be my 25th round of golf this year already. The tan lines are looking pretty funny these days. Can't wear sandals at all, which is my favorite.

My friend bet me that Tiger was going to win and I gave him 2/1 odds which he ridiculously accepted. I need to see him put it together more than a week before I think hes back to his full potential.

I love that Freddie is sitting in the top spot. Not sure he can handle the rigors of 4 days in a row of golf at his age, but I'd love to see him win it.

Yeah, I'd love to see him do it. One of the most talented guys to ever play and was just completely derailed by injuries. Just seems like a generally really good guy too.

That was a fantastic weekend.

No lie. Awesome!

I was rooting for Phil to make it interesting, but it was already interesting enough even with his triple bogey early on in the day. No Tiger or Rory in the picture and I still thought it was a rather exciting tournament.
