Just noticed that it appears there are no Garza pics from photo day (at least that made it onto daylife...)

Anyone else sick of the medias collective boner over this bunting contest? Sveum sure knows how to get on the good side of a bunch of old timey loving white guys.

Some weird photographer they had, Jeff put the ball near your lips, Dae-Eun rub the glove on your cheek

Yes, but would prefer to just let it pass and get on with actual baseball.

The writing is so clearly on the wall on this one --the bandwagon of Cub "fans" that will be cheering against LaHair is going to be pretty staggering.

Folks like you would rather see the guy fail, so you can gloat about being right.

See also: Colvin, Tyler. 2010 was a rough year for this crowd, but 2011 was sure sweet.

Now call him a rapist.

I've never "cheered against" a Cubs player in my life. What a stupid thing to do.

You've never admitted you were wrong either.

I'm guessing if you had to pick, you'd rather see LaHair flop.

Except for the bajillion times I have, but whatever.

Why on Earth would I rather see him fail? Do you not see the difference between expecting something happens and hoping that it happens? I EXPECT LaHair to be awful...I HOPE LaHair is good.

Oh good lord.

Two summers ago, you kept saying over and over that Colvin would never hit 20 HRs. It was a running debate for weeks between you and a bunch of other posters, and you were steadfast (as always). I'm too lazy to dig up two-year-old posts but I'm quite certain you know exactly what I'm referring to.

Tell me you were happy when Colvin hit his 20th HR that year, and wish he would've hit even more. I dare you.

It's no different with LaHair this year.

It would be pretty impressive if I somehow ever claimed after the fact that I wasn't wrong about Colvin hitting 20 home runs.

And of course I enjoyed each time he hit a home run. Why wouldn't I? I wish he had hit more, just like I wish he hadn't turned out to be the crappy player I figured he was.

I'd love it if LaHair turned out to be a decent or better player. I'm just not expecting it to happen.

What if late in a lost year the team was auditioning a guy who was clearly lacking for a role on the following year's team? Or if a scrappy but terrible vet was getting too much playing time and blocking a better, younger player? I have to say I've rooted against Cubs players in such scenarios, but only because I thought their short term failure would serve the mid-long term interests of the team.

The truth is, Tyler Colvin never should have had enough at bats at the major league level to hit 20 HR. That's what they meant.

I'm only half kidding.

In short, Tyler Colvin sucks.
