Mark Sanchez now makes more than Aaron Rodgers.

Yeah, not getting it.

I think Griffin will be a great pro QB, but that is a lot to give up for him. Assuming the Rams don't have Jerry Angelo drafting for them they should be really good in a few years.

Drew Magary retweeted my favorite quote on the Skins so far:

RGIII must feel flattered, in the "that scary divorcee just bid eight grand on me at the bachelor auction" sense.

rgIII is like "seriously?"

maybe this means they're going to now overpay for vincent jackson.

They can be like the Miami Marlins of this offseason except that they actually follow through.

Really bad decisions by NFL teams seem to be popular today.

Some of those darling New Yorkers may have actually thought they had a shot at Manning. Heh.

I'm not sure Clark can do much for anyone. He was pretty bad last year and is 33 now.

Wow, didn't realize Clark was that old. I knew he was getting older, but I was thinking 30-31. Still might be a decent 2nd TE option in the right situation, though.

Goes without saying that I'm a huge Clark fan and hope he does great wherever he goes. But he was really bad last year.

How much of that was Clark being really bad now and how much of that was the Painter/Orlovsky QB duo, I wonder?

The extension for Sanchez amounts to almost nothing. He gains an extra couple of mill but it's mostly options and even gives them more caproom. Basically a restructure. They still aren't committed to him.

It's not just the teams making bad decisions this off-season:

It certainly didn't help. However, I don't think that was the sole problem. Clark was tied for seventh in the NFL with nine drops. Reggie Wayne and Pierre Garcon still were able to have good years with Painter/Orlovsky. I'm not saying Clark is incapable of playing well in the future, but I'd be shocked if his days as a top-level tight end weren't over.

Makes sense. Didn't realize he had that many drops.

How much of Clark's entire career was just being lucky enough to have a HOFer throwing to him?

Apparently the Titans do have some interest in Peyton....

“He is the man I want. Period,” Adams said by phone from Houston. “And the people that work for me understand that. They know who I want. I want Mr. Manning with the Titans and I will be disappointed if it doesn’t happen.”

“I want him to be with me the rest of his working period of his life, even when he doesn’t want to play anymore,” Adams said. “I want him to come to work for us as long as he lives.”

Bud is apparently ready to offer Peyton a "competitive" offer and a front office position after he retires from playing. I had resigned myself to the Titans not having interest in Peyton, but now I'm getting kind of excited. If the Cubs can get Theo, maybe anything is possible.....

Manning is reportedly down to the Broncos and Cardinals.

Please not the Broncos. I don't want to have to root against him.

As his top two choices, not his only two choices. Peyton's too detailed to visit a couple of places and then rule everybody else out - especially when everybody else includes a team with as good a core as anybody else pursuing him. Kenny Britt, Jared Cook and Chris Johnson are all just about as good as anybody else's offensive weapons. He'd have to play the Colts twice if he came to Nashville, but the Titans are a definite playoff contender with him and could be a Super Bowl caliber team if he stays healthy and we make some shrewd defensive moves. Unless he simply has no desire to play the Colts twice, I'd be stunned if he didn't at least consider the Titans.

The Denver Broncos and Arizona Cardinals, the first two teams Manning visited, are considered his two likeliest landing spots, according to sources familiar with the situation.

There always is the possibility another team suddenly jumps into the fray, the sources said, but it is looking increasingly likely there are only a few viable possibilities at this time.

On a more realistic note, the Titans are apparently considering pursuing Steve Hutchinson. Wouldn't be a bad 1-2 year stopgap option, but unless we make a Peyton/Mario Williams type splash, I'd prefer the younger Ben Grubbs.

We all know that won't last long so it's completely irrelevant.

Part of me hates it...I blame alot of the Jets' problems on Mark Sanchez....The other part of me is interested to see that the Jets finally might be sticking with a plan and a QB who still has all his physical abilities intact (Pennington got his contract AFTER his first major injury). Sanchez doesn't lack talent and he was always a weird top 5 pick QB (junior entry, 13 college starts) so after his rookie year I figured he wouldn't do much for a while when it would suddenly just click for him. He's most definitely the type of QB who I would not be surprised to see suddenly throw up a standout season in his late 20's and have the ball roll from there...

Anyway, the Jets better have a strong FA and draft because he's still not someone to trust yet, even if they said otherwise with an extension. It did free up some cap room in 2012 which hopefully lets us even be players for Mario Williams....please be players for Mario Williams...At least Landry (given health) and some non-garbage WR who can play outside.

Sanchez can be cut as early as after 2013, which is about when a house cleaning would occur if he did bomb anyway. I think this can end well and if not its over quick....No setting us back a decade or anything.

Manning makes so much sense for the Chiefs that I'm gonna be a bit pissed when he doesn't sign with them. Most cap room in the NFL, good offensive pieces in Charles, Bowe, Baldwin, McCluster and Moeaki, a pretty good defense and a weak division.

I agree and they could still bring in another solid receiver like Wayne or Meachem.

On another not of why hasn't a team been linked to a guy/pursued him is the Packers and Mario Williams. I know it's not their MO to build through FA or spend big there, but they are at a point where they have built all they can through the draft and now need to plug holes through strategic FA additions. It's well known they desperately need/are looking to add a pass rusher opposite of Matthews and they have money available.
