I think you guys seriously underestimate the power of money. If Washington pays him 1 penny more than the Bears, he's going to be a Redskin.

I think you're overestimating it.

If anyone cares, they are replaying the Bears/Colts Super Bowl right now (10pm CST Sunday night - condensed into an hour).

I know its painful but at least the first few minutes were cool. I dont know about you but any reminding that the Bears were in a Super Bowl is enjoyable to me.

1 penny? No way. One redskin penny (aka several million guaranteed), well yes.

How about some predictions? I'll say by this time next week, we will have added Robert Meachem for 5/25 with 12 guaranteed. We'll sign Ben Grubbs for 6/38 with 21 guaranteed. And we will sign Jerome Mincey for 5/35 with 18 guaranteed. Not necessarily what I went in wanting, but fairly solid. V-Jax gets the 2nd largest contract ever for a WR and the Cowboys find a way to add Mario somehow. Peyton becomes a Dolphin and the Browns get Flynn. New Orleans keeps Colston but Nicks becomes a Chief.

The Chicago Sun Times reports that the Bucs have the "inside track" on signing free agent Vincent Jackson.

This basically disputes a Sunday night Union-Tribune San Diego report that the Redskins and Bears had emerged as the teams likely to make the most aggressive runs at Jackson. The U-T San Diego did mention the Bucs as a possible pursuer of Jackson, but not as a favorite. Expect some reports to conflict over the next few days as player agents spread word in attempts to increase their clients' markets. The Sun Times' Sean Jensen suggests the Bears may be "among the serious suitors who might come up short."

I hope it does. If our offer blows theirs out of the water, I'm going to be pretty unhappy with Emery.

Sure, if they do something stupid like offer 3 #1's to move up 4 spots, then yeah. I guess VJax would have to take that. And I wouldn't want Emery to engage them in their yearly round of nonsense.

What is the difference between Green Bay and Chicago, wratherwise? I don't see any myself. Rodgers is great and I'm not going to say Jay is as good as him, but if Green Bay can have that kind of passing game in cold weather, nothing is stopping the Bears from doing the same. Stupid answer from Biggs. He is trolling basically.

What is stupid? The Bears have been an offensive blackhole for decades. Their brief forays into not sucking on offense have not lasted, and even with 3 years of Cutler their incompetent management/coaching and no surrounding talent has kept them below average. Green Bay has had a couple decades of elite passing going on. We can love Jay all we want but the perception in the league is definitely that Chicago's passing game is not conducive to anybody wanting to further their career. And they have a freaking line coach as the offensive coordinator now.

We have an elite QB for the first time since the league turned into what is considered a passing league. And he has shown the ability to be a 4000 yard a season passer. He can ceryainly do it in Chicago as well if he is given the weapons.

He should be able to, but the point is he has not to date, and the perception around the league remains that the Bears passing game is a joke.

If we can come out of this offseason with a go to WR and another 2/3 guy, maube add one solid addition to the line, I really see this offense having a great shot at being elite.

I see elite being a longshot barring massive improvements to both WR and the line. Aside from the lack of talent, they still have Mike Tice as the OC. They should be able to finally be above average, but they have a hell of a lot of ground to make up to even be flirting with the elite groups.

I'm totally down for splurging on Mario Williams at this point and fixing the WR group via draft and a more mid level FA.

Holy [expletive] Peppers and Mario would be awesome.

The thought of Williams and Peppers on the outside and rotating Melton, Okoye and Paea in the middle would be pretty amazing.

That would effectively limit any chance to double cover Peppers on the outside, which is awesome by itself. Man, just being able to rush our front four everytime with a rotation like that is just drool worthy.

Well, this certainly throws a wrench into the works for the Redskins (and Jackson)

RT @AdamSchefter: NFL is taking away millions of dolllar of salary-cap space from Cowboys and Redskins for how they front-loaded deals during uncapped year.

RT @AdamSchefter: Cowboys lose $10 million in cap space, Redskins lose $36 million in space. Can split it over 2012 and 2013 any way they want. More at ESPN.

RT @AdamSchefter: All that money goes to 28 other teams -- $1.6 million each -- except for Saints and Raiders, who don't get any but don't lose any.
