Bears may be interested in trading for Freeney. I am OK with this assuming he would restructure. On the other hand, Pompeii raises a scenario where we may go hard after Mario and if we miss, turn our attention to V-Jax AND Mincey. As much as I like Mario, I think I would prefer option two.

I'd rather get Mario Williams and a WR like Robert Meachem. Should be similar price to VJax and Mincey.

I would agree. Williams would give us the best d-line in the league, and siging a Meacham/Garcon/Manningham wouldn't preclude us from being WR draft heavy.

That's where I'm at. Your combo will be far more productive.

According to the Union-Tribune San Diego, "it is believed" the Redskins and Bears will be Vincent Jackson's most ardent suitors when free agency opens at 4PM ET on Tuesday.

Per Chargers beat writer Kevin Acee, the Bolts are "seemingly resigned" to the fact that Jackson will sign elsewhere because of his purported contract demands. Both the Redskins and Bears have a more desperate need and appear to be willing to spend more than San Diego. Acee goes so far as to suggests Washington "will do almost whatever it takes to get Jackson." Observed one source monitoring the V-Jax situation closely, "He’s going to get more than you or I could ever imagine he would."

Damnable Skins.

Makes sense. They can't draft anyone anymore. Their defense is already good enough to win a lot of games. If RG3 plays as well as CAM next year, they'll be a playoff team. Getting VJax would go a long way to making sure RG3 is that good right away.

According to Michael Wright, Bears are interested in Hawthorne. I like him a lot and think he would be a nice successor to Urlacher. That said, l would prefer to after more of a true need, if we spend big on someone.

I'd love to have Mario, but there's no way in hell Emery gets rid of the first rounder. Edited by ctcf

Mario us an UFA he cost nothing. Wallace is the first rounder.

Watch the skins pay as much for vjax as Mario gets. Mario is a freak, even though it's not an immediate need I'm am so in because guys like him don't hit FA often. I'm not going to get my hopes up maybe I will be surprised like the time the bears got cutler.

Yea whoops. I think I changed my mind on how I was writing that sentence halfway through and forgot to go back and change the first half.

Bears still a better option for him than playing with a rook.

we beat the redskins out for peppers a couple of years ago, everyone knows it's a graveyard for free agents. jackson's never been to or won a super bowl, he can either come to chicago for crazy money and compete for a title, or he can go to washington, play with a rookie quarterback, lose a lot of games while the skins have no picks and make super duper crazy money.

i doubt he'll want to play in washington.

Me too. If VJax wants to be RG3's learning crutch I would be very surprised, when he could play with one of the hot bona-fide NFL arms around.
