well, three more games left, but I think we're out of it. who should we draft? where will we pick?

KC fired Haley, is he possible OC replacement for Martz?

If Angelo retires, who becomes GM?

For some reason, despite Seattle still having to play tonight, there is a line for this game and it is 4.5 right now. I can't imagine the Bears giving points right now. They've lost three straight to the worst conference in the league. Seattle does suck, but they've managed road wins in NY and STL. This is probably going to be another really ugly game.

The Bears are currently tied with 5 other teams at the 16th pick spot. 2-1 is the best they can do from here, 1-2 might be more realistic, but 0-3 is a definite possibility if they don't do a lot more on offense.

Hopefully nobody else that matters suffers an injury that threatens 2012.

My guess is the new guy from Seattle will be taking over for Angelo if he leaves, and the Bears will do something incredibly dull and uninteresting in trying to replace Martz.

no one inside the organization is giving the sense right now that Angelo will hang ’em up this offseason.

If he doesn’t, I took one thing away from his informal news conference before the game: He’ll be a major player in free agency and big signings could lie ahead. I’m just reading between the lines here, but follow along:

“I still want to make a run at this,” Angelo said, referring to the Super Bowl title. “You know what my goal is right now? It’s to win a championship. I would really like to do that. That’s what I am focused on.”

He better get serious about multiple spots on the roster that he's ignored if that is true.

Sure seems like if you were gonna go big in FA, last offseason was the time to do it.

This is too easy but.....shouldn't that have always been your goal instead of "see how long you can irritate Bears fans by not addressing the offensive line"?

Either way, I am glad to see that my desires for the Bears are now perfectly in line with Jerry's current goals.

what big time FA are going to be available who could help us? Avril? Vince Jackson?

They would be welcome additions to this team. Then address the OL and, say, CB in the early rounds of the draft.

VJ is a must have for this team so you can draft other positions of need. This team sorely needs a true #1 WR.

First round I think DE/OL would be a good start.

Eh, I like Vincent Jackson and all, but I'd rather not pay that much money to a WR who's going to be the oldest starter on the offense (other than Garza). Granted, he's only going to be 3 months older than Cutler but a 29 year old WR is completely different from a 29-year old QB. This draft is loaded with WR talent. Cutler has shown he can win with crap WRs. That doesn't mean I want to stick with crap, just that I don't see the need to pay $25Mil guaranteed (basically what Santonio Holmes got) to a WR entering his post prime years. I'd rather spend money on a younger player. My FA philosophy is don't spend on players over 28 unless they are a proven franchise QB (never happens), a high caliber offensive lineman (because they can play well into their 30s), or truly one of the top 5 in the game at a game-changing position of need (ala Peppers). While WR is a huge position of need, I don't think VJack is quite at the talent level I would be willing to risk that type of money on.

Besides, with the way this season has ended, the Bears are going to be back in Michael Floyd territory in the draft order. He reminds me of a shorter, slightly slower version of VJack. If not him, there's a ton of WR talent in this draft.

I would not want my #1 receiver to be Vincent Jackson

Seahawks have now won 4 of their last 5 games after a 2-6 start. They are amazingly on the edge of the playoff race at 6-7, so they have something to play for. This could get bad.

I don't get how it could get any worse, for us. We just witnessed a tanking on an Epic level. Do you really care if the Seahawks put a bullet in our brain after we're already dead?

I just want to see my team win. Win for pride if the playoffs are out of the picture, whatever. I know we're in a bad situation right now, but I still want to see this team finish with a winning record, so regardless of how difficult that may be, I will be holding out hope and I will be disappointed if we lose.

Also, if we lose this game, I think the chances of Cutler coming back for the last 1-2 games of the season are slim to none. If we could somehow win and Cutler is ok to play next week, who knows. I do know the Bears would be fired up with Cutler back as well as trying to end the Packers perfect season. Remember that the Bears have played the Packers as well as any team in the league the last 2 years. Not impossible that we could beat them with Cutler and Forte.

Stat that makes me want to bang my head against a wall

Earl Bennett had 3 catches for 75 yards in Jay Cutler's last game before surgery. In 3 games since, Bennett has 2 catches for 10 yards.

Isn't that the time when he signed his extension as well?

So I bought tickets to this game on the morning of the Chargers game. Just a few hours later we lost our franchise QB and our season has completely unraveled since. It will be my first game at Soldier Field.

If the Falcons lose Thursday to the Jags, I will be a lot more excited for this game. That's very unlikely though.

If Atlanta loses on Thursday, I think I need to start rooting for Detroit to start winning to avoid a 3 way tie.

Dammit what the hell am I doing? The Bears are done.
