UK had 35 yds of total offense in the 1st half against a Sun Belt team.

Maybe figure out some alternate Saturday activities for this fall.

If you were expecting an upset tonight in Badgertown, not looking good.

I wonder how many FCS teams would beat UNLV. They look terrible.

on the other hand, wisconsin (for one year) is not boring old run the ball 50 times a game and win despite a mediocre qb.

Going to the Rose Bowl is not boring. For a team like Wisconsin, that's what matters. Not making Sportscenter with highlight pass plays.

it's what they've done for several years. ohio st played the same way under tressel. i wasn't saying it's wrong to win that way, it's just not interesting to watch.

I love that style of football myself. I personally can't stand spread offenses like Oregon and Michigan from a year ago or team like Texas Tech. Then again the team I cheer for is a run/defense first team so that may have something to do with it.

I can say after watching Michigan switch from pro-style to spread that I'm excited to go back to a pro-style offense. If we go back to 3 yards and a cloud of dust, I'm going to be pissed, but a pro-style west coast offense if more fun to watch IMO. It is painful seeing 3rd down and 7 knowing the spread QB has no chance of throwing for a 1st down. It's my biggest fear going into this season with Denard still at QB. I like the variety that a pro-style offense brings.

People still associate Wisconsin offense with Ron Dayne and PJ Hill - just running a 260 lb RB between the tackles and get 5 yards/carry. Maybe a QB boot and TE screen now and again.

They've really recruited some different players recently. Now that Clay is out, our 4 top RBs are in the 190-220 range, looking for quickness and pass catching to go along with running between the tackles. Just watch Ball's TD run from last night.

Throw in athletic TEs (admittedly we still need long-term help at WR) and this is a versatile offense with a great mind (Chryst) running it. Russell Wilson adds so much more, but we also have the #4 QB in the nation (Bart Houston) coming in.

Having seen davie and his pathetic offense, Weis, and now Kelly, I prefer Weis' at least aesthetically. But Kelly's offense might grow on me. He hasn't had a starter that can really run his full playbook. Hendrix can probably run almost all of it, and he could start next year if Crist leaves. But more likely it'll be 2013 before we see the current true freshman that Kelly is really high on running everything Kelly wants to run.

I really like Bart Houston. I can't believe a California kid is going to a normally QB-weak program that far away. Great get for Wisconsin.

Boise State coaches say three foreign-born players are being held out of the season opener against Georgia because the players are undergoing a review of their eligibility by the NCAA.

The players include starting wide receiver Geraldo Boldewijn, starting safety Cedric Febis and backup defensive lineman Ricky Tjong-A-Tjoe.

Athletic Department spokesman Max Corbett says the players did not make the trip to Atlanta

Stick to scouting. Stats aren't your thing. :)

Is that b/c I forgot to mention to faculty accidents and cover-ups? :-)

Yeah, Kentucky football isn't good.

No it's not, although I wouldn't criticize another program if my alma mater hasn't been any better. (no, I'm not being too serious with this one).

This is a message board of cubs fans. If we weren't allowed to mock others unless our team is good, this place would be pretty damn quiet.

And you can't seriously be arguing that Kentucky football has been on the same level as ND for any period of time, except the 2007 season, which we all know never happened.

I know and would never compare the programs, espec. historically, but it is ironic that while ND has been in one its' worst stretches, UK has been in one of its' better ones and they're fairly similar.

Right. UK's best is about equal to ND's worst. So why can't I poke a little fun at your post about how bad they were last night?

Looking forward to TCU/Baylor tonight. Robert Griffin is one of the most fun players in the country to watch.

I may just be listening to the wrong people, but I've heard very few people give Baylor much of a chance tonight. I'm really excited about it since I think it'll be a lot closer than that - I could easily see Baylor knocking off TCU.

And I'll probably be pulling for Baylor too since TCU isn't a mid-major anymore (at least long term) so them busting up the BCS wouldn't be as meaningful.

I know nothing of Baylor this year, but it seems like they always have the talent for an upset.

They were a decent team (certainly by Baylor football standards) last year and Robert Griffin is a fantastic player. I'm not real familiar with this year's version, though.
