[expletive] STOP WITH THE CASTRO BATTING #3 [expletive]. Do Aramis and Pena have to have 3-HR games each to make it abundantly clear that they're fine holding down the 3-4 spots? What the [expletive] about Campana screams that he needs to be batting anywhere besides #7 or #8? Oh, right; he's fast and he made a nice catch yesterday.

But he's fast. Need that speed at the top. The fact he can't get on base is immaterial.

Does he know that's not a compliment?

I'd like to think he does, though it's like night and day with those sponsorships in terms of people getting it.

Huh, Campana is already 8 of 9 in SBs and he's only been on base about 25 times.

Just to break it down, let's pretend that Campana replicated Pierre's seasons for the ages of 26 and 27.

Pierre when he was 26: .326 .374 .407 .781

Nice. Managed 12 triples and to tie his whopping career high of 3 HR in a season! He stole 45 bases but was CS, however, 24 times.

Age 27: .276 .326 .354 .680

Ouch. 57 steals and 17 CS.

It's a good thing the Cubs are playing the Giants today because with Lopez and Davis pitching, any normal offense might put up 20 runs in the two games (and the Giants still might).

I have never really understood why everyone refers to Pierre as a "base stealing threat". He gets caught A LOT and defensively, if he gets on base you should be hoping that he tries to steal. You have a 50/50 shot at wiping away a hit/walk etc.

Pierre's almost a career 75% basestealer. For a guy who has stolen 537 bases in his career that's a pretty big basestealing threat. He's had some years where his numbers have been pretty poor, but he's had others where he was excellent on the basepaths.

Glad I'm going to the night game so I don't have to watch Koyie Hill play. That's a win already.

Yup, and we don't have to watch Davis bore us to death

Um he's a black CF, what are we supposed to say? He gets the most out of his abilities??

Instead you get Rodrigo Lopez. Seems like a lose-lose situation in terms of the Cubs starting pitchers.
