Darwin Barney is going to enter Theriot territory eventually and it's going to be a shame.

Speed and defense in baseball is awesome! Especially when you have none of either.

I never expected much either, but his early success is going to raise hopes and give him a longer leash. And eventually there will be a "get rid of this guy" and a "he's the least of our problems" crowd bickering about him.

len was talking about his velocity earlier in the game but mentioned that it was improving as the game went on

I heard that, but it's been bad this inning again after he ran the bases. And he's all over the place. I would only describe it as not looking comfortable.

This Cubs team is quickly sliding up the NL ranks in offense. That's really surprising considering who they've had to throw out there at times this season.
