No thread up yet. I'll get this show on the road, as I know how excited we all are about watching the Cubs this afternoon.

this would be funny if it weren't so depressing

Unfortunately, it's not even that much worse than having our regular lineup out there. What a shitty team.

Campana CF

This duo may very well be one of the worst combinations of back-to-back hitters (not including pitchers) in MLB history. Let's pray for a rainout. Speaking of which, what the hell is going on with the weather??? It is almost June and I need a winter coat to go outside.

While I certainly don't expect Barney to hit .330 all year, he's doing it now so he gets some starts to see what he can do at this level. Why not give Campana the same opportunity? The team is going nowhere and there is an opening with Byrd out. I don't see a reason to not give the kid a shot...maybe his game plays up at this level, maybe it doesn't. The point is, we don't know.

We consistently had worse back-to-back hitters batting 1-2 under Dusty in '05-'06.

Cubs are apparently expecting a 15-20 minute delay to the start of this one.

So Montanez comes up and goes 2-4 in his 1st game up, and then doesnt even get a start the next 2 games? No reason at all that Fukudome cant play CF and put Montanez in RF.

WGN America and SNY I imagine?

Yeah, I was all excited that Time Warner cable picked up WGN this year but this has been one of the few weekday games I've seen them air, and of course a Mets game.

Pena's foot wasn't even close to being on the bag on that throw.

Nice call, Dale Scott.

I missed the play but saw the end of the replay, was it on there and then came off? Because what I saw he was nowhere near.

It looked like by the time he caught the ball, his foot was at least a couple inches off the bag. What you saw was correct - it wasn't close.
