Rumors are getting crazy. Seen a few tweets/blogs suggesting Hawks and talking with Boston. Shipping Hammer their way for one of their 5 quality centers

I'd be all for it, especially considering we now have Montador in the fold.

99% of it is just noise unfortunately. Kind of fun following it today and the speed in which you can get rumors with Twitter is unbelievable.

Can you please tell me everyone you follow on twitter for rumors? I don't know who to follow.

Sure. Obviously the local beat guys like Kuc and Sassone. The Hawks official twitter. Follow @2ndcity hockey, @the1tab, @cheertheanthem, and then I just go through people they follow/ask questions too and follow them as well.

It's definitely not an exact science or anything, but I eat up all these hockey rumors. So little work is going to get done today it's not even funny

Wiz getting 6 years at 5.5 makes 2's and 7's contract look like all time steals

His cap hit is just 38k less than Keiths. Wow

Shea Weber should be asking for more than Brian Campbell money. Doughtry as well

Saw this picture. Shows who's still remaining from the Cup team:

Also, I'm a very casual Blackhawks fan, but if these two lockout keep up and the Cubs playing like this, I'm going to have to seriously get into hockey.

I still can't find Byfugs in that picture. I remember some idiot was saying it was racist because he was pushed all the way to the back of the photo, barely getting his head in there.

i'm sure that if it was really that important to him that he would have just pushed his fat ass to the front. he was a key part of that run and i'm absolutely positive he was an insider on that team.

Supposedly the Hawks are the favorite for Andrew Brunette. Not a bad signing if we can pull it off. Obviously not a long term fix, being 38 and all but still can contribute 60 points most likely.

I like the move. It's good to get another veteran in here. 38 is pretty old but we're not relying on him to play top line minutes. From what I've read, he does a lot of good things.

Edit: 1 year 2 mil

that's a nice deal for o'donnell. he was solid for the flyers all year, won't do anything special but won't get caught out too often. to me, he's about the perfect #6 d-man.

Interesting that Sopel or Campoli's names really haven't been swirling around today. I'd still really like to see them address our center depth, unless they already had a conversation with Sharpie and he's comfortable being our center for 2011

They made a run at Max Talbot and even saw a rumor that the Hawks were front runners at one point but the Flyers swept in and got him with a 5 year deal.

So how much money do the Hawks have left to spend?

With 20 players under contract, they have over 7.8 million left to play with.

I've read a couple articles that say the Hawks plan to keep some of that cap space available for the deadline so I don't expect anything big, maybe a 2-3 mil center and some 4th line wing depth
