A. Why not just put up the Starlin Castro statue now, why wait till he's old and retired?

B. Can Grabow be taken out back and shot already?

So glad to have Woody back and to see him healthy and effective. Also glad to see him touch 96 on the radar.

I still wish Quade would use Marshall more often as the setup man.

Don't we have a pending need for long relief? I like Marshall better for that.

What? No. That's a waste of Marshall. Long relief is usually garbage time.

Ok, wasn't Marmol in during a non-save situation in his last appearance?

What the [expletive], Quade?

I'm sure we'll have to use him tomorrow in a much closer situation too.

Overall I like Quade, but he's showing some disturbing tendencies.

i was going to say that we will probably lose tomorrow since the rockies are good and we are not, but it's dempster against some 27 year old guy making his major league debut, so we should have a reasonably good chance of winning.

He hasn't pitched since like the 13th

OK, new rules for game threads: we need volunteers to rip on Coleman before every start.

It seems to work just fine. :D

Thats really not true though. Cubs arent great, but they are good. Were a .500 team, that could be a few games over if things had gone our way, and yeah, I know if my aunt had balls shed be my uncle, but its not like we have a bunch of guys playing over their heads with the possible exception of Barney, and thats with Pena, Soto, and Colvin that really havnt got it going yet. Most of our hitters are doing as expected, and if our starting pitching can click, this team can definitely contend.

Anyone able to upload the 7th inning of last night's game to YouTube? That was my mom that they told to get out of the way of the TV during the game, and I'm one of the few people in this great country that still doesn't have DVR. Any assistance in uploading the clip or letting me know where I could find it would be greatly appreciated!

i think his whip is under 10.00 after this outing

Not according to thebaseballcube.com They have him at a 12.56 WHIP :banghead: Always thought their stats were reliable. Lesson learned.

I think they're somehow multiplying his WHIP by 10. Don't know why or how, but it matches up.

I've been trying to figure out where the number came from and I can't. I used both hits and hits+walks divided by the innings and then multiplied by both 9 and 10 and the closest I've come is 13/(10 2/3)*10, which is 12.19.
