i think his whip is under 10.00 after this outing

 

Not according to thebaseballcube.com They have him at a 12.56 WHIP :banghead: Always thought their stats were reliable. Lesson learned.

I think they're somehow multiplying his WHIP by 10. Don't know why or how, but it matches up.

 

I've been trying to figure out where the number came from and I can't. I used both hits and hits+walks divided by the innings and then multiplied by both 9 and 10 and the closest I've come is 13/(10 2/3)*10, which is 12.19.

 

 

It appears to be messing up WHIP for every pitcher, but not by some set parameter:

 

 

Gio Gonzalez is 2-0 with a .47 ERA with a 63.79 WHIP (actual: 1.263).
