Hold on now. There were multiple possessions where he got the ball with Jason Terry on him, isolated, and immediately threw it back to the top. He's facing guys who he is 4-6 inches taller than, stronger than, faster than and more explosive than.

Fair point. It's just hard for me to believe that it's him being afraid to take over. Nothing about that makes sense.

i think you could go a bit further than "Lebron hasn't had a great finals." you know, there is middle ground between shrugging off his performance as him having a few bad games and proclaiming wade as the best player on that team.

A foolish person would say "count the rings."

He's 26 [expletive] years old. And how long did they have off between the ECF and the Finals? LOL at all the excuse making for LeBron. Even Stephen A. Smith was on Mike & Mike this morning saying there is some personal issue not related to basketball that is distracting LeBron, but he wouldn't report on it even if he confirm it. Unbelievable.

What does his age have to do with it? He's been playing 44 minutes a night for the past two months, destroyed Boston and Chicago (again, on both ends) and has been playing out of his mind on defense in this series.

It's not even remotely possible that he doesn't have another gear on offense, can't push it against a really good defender and can instead spend his energy on defense since his awesome teammate is being guarded by a traffic cone?

I'm not apologizing for LeBron; I'm just exploring the other myriad possibilities besides him being afraid of "the moment."

I guess those scenarios are possible. Maybe my problem is that I hear so many people trying to compare him to Jordan that I do the same and just shake my head laughing at anyone who believes they are in the same stratosphere.

He's put up 17/7/6 with 2+ steals per game with similar shooting percentages to the rest of the playoffs. How exactly would you characterize it?

If you listen closely, you can almost hear the rattling.

It's like Kobe. Kobe is a fantastic player, and obviously I'm biased but I don't see Kobe is the same realm as MJ, when people were openly wondering if Kobe passes MJ by getting his 6th title. Jordan wins out in just about every statistical catergory and would have won the same number of titles, all of them as the leading man. And somehow Kobe is allowed to be in the GOAT discussion? There's just no way.

maybe he's just not the one prophesied. maybe he's simply a great player. maybe the scottish would call him toom tabard and spit on the ground whenever his real name is invoked.

The less I understand, the funnier they become.

SSR shakes his head at you.

As he should. Arguing that Jordan is the better player is one thing; saying that guys like LeBron and Kobe aren't even in the same "stratosphere" as him is ridiculous.

That's exactly why he is so polarizing. He has all the talent in the world and everyone basically WANTS him to be as close to Jordan as possible so we CAN have those discussions. Problem is, every time he's on the big stage with a chance to prove it, he's failed (with the exception of that one game vs. the Pistons where he played like God).

The whole situation is really mind boggling. If he played to his physical potential (which would only be possible if he had a different or changed mental makeup), he could be as good or better than Jordan, Kobe, etc..., but he hasn't yet and it just makes no sense.

But I just don't think there's anything wrong with his makeup. Consider this: he was already being recruited when he was a 14-year-old, he was a first round pick when he was a junior and he was playing nationally-televised games when he was 18. He's met all expectations that were set on him when he was 16, so I just can't believe that this -- winning an NBA championship -- would be too much for him.

LeBron is too obsitnate. He thinks he can be just as great by not scoring so when people say he needs to be the guy, he tries doubly hard not to be the guy at the cost of his team's chances.

I think he is. I think he tries to be the play maker all game and then it devolves into iso's and so he defers to Wade to the point where the game gets away from him and he's out of the flow of the game.

I've said this about LeBron forever now. He has great court awareness but has an absolutely awful feel for the flow of the game. When to shoot, when to drive and when to pass seem to be lost on him. It's the only thing Derrick does better than him and why I felt Derrick deserved the MVP in spite of LeBron being the more "valuable" player. Feeling the game, communicating...LeBron sucks.

Why can't the women in Bron Bron's life stop [expletive] up his mind during the playoffs? Last year it was him mom banging his teammate and now his baby momma is cheating on him with Rashard Lewis? No wonder he's disappearing in the Finals.

More importantly, why didn't this happen three weeks ago?
