I will say Robertson seems woefully underrepresented in the greatest of all time arguments. If he played when people gave a [expletive] about the NBA he'd be right up there I'm sure.

I completely agree with this argument.

LeBron is probably the greatest player on the planet right now, but he doesn't have the killer instinct like the truly legendary players do. He had 8 points last night and now has a total of nine 4th quarter points through four Finals games. He is not the go to guy in crunch situations on his team and he appears to be OK with that. It's making me think that is why he chose Miami over the Bulls. He figured he would have to be "the man" in Chicago not realizing how great DRose would turn out to be.

So did he lose the killer instinct after spanking the Bulls?

Gold star for playing big in the conference finals. Now why does he seem to disappear on the biggest stage of all?

Yet Wade is the greatest even though he "disappeared" in the round to get to the "biggest stage of all?"

Who said Wade was the greatest?

That's what this latest discussion spun off of, Wade being called last night the greatest/best player on the Heat.

i was actually talking about scottie pippen

oscar robertson is actually the third greatest oscar robertson of all time

Ahh but Pippen was only good because Jordan taught him the new way. so he gets partial credit.

Exactly.

Oscar, of course, gets points taken away because of the too many white guys level of competition.

Oh, sorry for the confusion. I don't believe that. I would argue that he's the most clutch player on the Heat, though.

Too bad this doesn't apply to Babe Ruth, THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME!

lol at this guy still jock sniffing lebron

I mean you don't seriously believe that tripe that Wade is the best player on the Heat do you?

He's the best player in the world when Jason Kidd is guarding him.

Damn. LeBron may be a better player because of consistency. But Wade at his best is better than LeBron as his best.

What? No.

Wade [expletive] all over the floor in the Bulls series, and now Bulls fans are all too eager to declare him the leader of Miami because of a couple games in the finals. The Heat might not have made it past Boston without LBJ. God only knows what people would be saying if Lebron had Wade's game but lost the final possession in the same manner. LEBRON CAN'T CLOSE OUT, CHOKES WHEN IT MATTERS MICHAEL JORDAN LET ME SUCK YOUR DICK

Hey, I admit I'm a LeBron basher. It's fun. I admit he's a great player. The best physical tools of any player that ever played. I'm not saying he's worse than Wade. I said Wade at his best.

I'll grant LeBron is a lot of things. He has the best physicial tools of any player in history, he can pass really well, he plays good defense, is a great finisher, and is a great player. He just isn't a great scorer. He cannot will the ball in the basket and carry a team's offense. He is not in MJ, Kobe, Dirk, or Wade's league when it comes to this. I personally think this ability is the most important in basketball, and underrated by statisticians.

It's like people completely forgot what LeBron did his entire career before he went to the Heat.

When asked if Miami is the worst professional sports town, Barkley, who reiterated his admiration of LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, said: "Yeah they have the worst fans. No question. It's not even loud in there. You're at the game and you are like, 'Man this place isn't even loud.' At least when you go to Chicago, it's loud in there, it's crazy down in Dallas but it's not even loud in Miami."

"Listen, if the Miami Heat were playing the Washington Generals I would pick the Washington Generals," Barkley said with a chuckle. "It's something about that team that annoys me.

"They just a whiny bunch and I can't root for them."

That's awesome. He used to sugar coat it so he didn't completely alienate the fans but it looks like their backlash against him made him not care anymore.

You act surprised. This is the third straight year people are questioning if he's "the man" or not.

So doesn't that make it a semi-legit question to ask then?

Is it a legit question to ask if Aramis Ramirez is lazy?

I don't think so. At this point, I think he's completely wiped out and Dallas is doing a really good job of guarding him. After the way he obliterated Boston and Chicago on both ends of the floor, it's not hard to believe he's nearing fumes.

He's 26 [expletive] years old. And how long did they have off between the ECF and the Finals? LOL at all the excuse making for LeBron. Even Stephen A. Smith was on Mike & Mike this morning saying there is some personal issue not related to basketball that is distracting LeBron, but he wouldn't report on it even if he confirm it. Unbelievable.

If you want to say LeBron hasn't had a great finals, that's a pretty self-evident fact. But all the larger connotations being drawn(Wade at his best is better! he can't carry a team offensively!) are so laughably wrong I can barely read them with a straight face.

Basically, it's the same dumb nonsense that sports media tries all the time, but because everyone hates LeBron and the Heat, they go along with it.

What does his age have to do with it? He's been playing 44 minutes a night for the past two months, destroyed Boston and Chicago (again, on both ends) and has been playing out of his mind on defense in this series.

It's not even remotely possible that he doesn't have another gear on offense, can't push it against a really good defender and can instead spend his energy on defense since his awesome teammate is being guarded by a traffic cone?

I'm not apologizing for LeBron; I'm just exploring the other myriad possibilities besides him being afraid of "the moment."

Hold on now. There were multiple possessions where he got the ball with Jason Terry on him, isolated, and immediately threw it back to the top. He's facing guys who he is 4-6 inches taller than, stronger than, faster than and more explosive than.

It's been said 1,000 times but there is absolutely no reason that he hasn't developed some sort of a post-up game yet. You think they would keep putting Kidd and Stevenson on him if he could post them up?

i think you could go a bit further than "Lebron hasn't had a great finals." you know, there is middle ground between shrugging off his performance as him having a few bad games and proclaiming wade as the best player on that team.
